Extract brewing

Can someone point me to a good introduction to extract brewing? Or give me the five line overview? I want to brew a nice, hoppy ale. I currently know about the specifics of brewing beer or ale other than if I want to go beyond kits, extract is probably the next step.

Could be a Pellicle (forms when wild yeast gets into the beer) I guess, is it the same FV you had the last infection in?

Hmmm. I couldn't say with certainty. There's a 50% chance that it is. I cleaned it well and bleached the bum bum out of it though.

Actually, it turned out that I can say with certainty that it isn't the same one. It's a brand new FV (I forgot I'd bought one). The waxy gear did only show up after I dry hopped though.

I bottled it anyway. It tasted OK to me. I'll see what it's like after carbonation.
