Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

i was wondering could some explain something to me, i was recently looking at a video of a casa on a patrol mission and it showed the photographer opening the window to take a picture of a trawler. So i was just wondering when the casa's got there upgrades how come a system was not put in place that the photos could be taken by an operator at a control station using a remote camera instead of opening the window and taking a picture. Is it for some legal reason or is it simply down to it would cost to much to have such a system ?

As far as I know, the CASA CN-235 in its version as a Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) is equipped both with a surface search radar, and a camera pod. You should see that camera pod underneath the cockpit, if you look at photos of the aircraft. However, even today, there are situations where the Mk. 1 Eyeball Sensor is the best tool of the job. That's why almost all MPAs, even the advanced Boeing P-8 Poseidon now being introduced into the US Navy, have one or more observer windows available to them. Besides, it's good to have a backup system in case the camera pod fails.

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!
