Its a good price for tia maria, o briens show it as 20 recued from 23euro.

If you mean in general then I would say its an overpriced liquer, like most are. Its only 20% so basically the price should be the same as half a bottle of vodka + the cost of the sugar & flavouring.

Malibu is down to €16 and a mere 21% so even though its a good price for malibu I think its expensive for white rum & coconut flavouring & sugar.

Got it there for that price a few weeks ago but haven't seen it in the numerous other Tescos I've been in since. From the odd time I've been in there when passing, I must say Coonagh Cross is particularly fertile hunting ground for cut-price clearance booze!

Has anyone tried either the Lidl/Aldi equivalent of Jack Daniels? If so, how does it rate (and can you remember what it is called)?

I think that there is a €20 voucher off Aldi/Lidl in papers at weekend (for spend over €100) and would use this to buy a bottle if it compares well.

They don't have a full equivalent of Jack Daniels, basically.

They both have a bourbon that I suspect is actually identical in each store - there's one huge white label distillery in the states that churns it out; it is very similar to Jim Beam. It doesn't have the secondary flavours (marginally mouthwash like) that Jack Daniels has.

As bourbons go, its fine.

Not at the moment ... they only stock it sporadically ... they haven't ran their 4 for €5 on Franziskaner in ages either.

I remember last year coming out of Lidl with 48 bottles for €50 after using my €10 off €50 spend voucher there, I felt like I was wearing a balaclava as I handed over the cash at the till

Jameson 18yr old 70cl - €63 in tesco nenagh. Hadn't been in stock for ages and 1 suddenly appeared yesterday. worth keeping an eye out in other tesco stores at that price (or €53 with a lidl/aldi voucher)

That's a lovely drop. I remember making a sizeable dent in a bottle at a free bar many moons ago.

That would be good for the upcoming €100 vouchers too. I usually just barely go over the €50 mark as my shop is usually well under that. I keep track of my cost totting it up on the phone calculator.

My tesco was cleaned out of the €12 baileys the other night, not sure when the best time to go is, I expect in the morning after the nightpackers have been in.

Just been down my local Tesco , 24 Heineken and 24 draught Guinness for €40 with my lidl voucher . Delighted. I'm making the most of it . If finegael and labour get back in that ll be the end of it . Prob be about €80 this time next year

And a medium selection box €2. (it's Christmas, and Christmas is for kids , isn't it? )
