can't login to skype

hi guys i am running vista home premium and i cannot login to skype all i get is the first blue skype screen with nowhere to login. i have uninstalled it and reinstalled it to no avail i also tried an older version just in case it was an upgrade that caused the problem. if anybody has had this problem did you find a solution. please let me know cheers

Have you tried right clicking on the Skype icon on the desktop and clicking Sign-in?

thanks mr. G i was working for the paddy's day weekend i will give that a go tonight and i will let you know how i get on. thanks for the help.

sorry mr g the kids were sick i just got a chance to do this today. i did the resetting of IE and creating the shortcut but it did not work but i can't do the logincleanup because i don't have winzip is ther anything else i can try. thanks

it is ok mr g i figured out how to open the logincleanup file and i ran it and skype works again. thanks a million for your help it is really appreciated
