Eastern block cars were popular in my family. My grandmother had a Wartburg 1.3 while her sister had a Trabant 601. The seats and speedometer look IFA-ish, so if it wasn't a Wartburg, it must've been the Trabant :D

Weird place for ignition. I wouldn't be able to own that car with the ignition there as my dog would probably break the key while going from front seat to back seat. Over time it would deffo break. I had a mp3 player hooked up to radio left where your igintion is before and my dog broke the headphone jack by walking on it.

Full tank of petrol nice. I never go full tank always half tank which is €30

30 euro for half a tank, is it a wheelbarrow your driving??

    33 on the motorway :D

I'd say the auto makes it 10-15% thirstier. Considering an LPG conversion tbh. 90 quid a week in Petrol hurts :(

Thats an S40 yeah? How do you find that console to use? I went out on a test drive in one of these recently with my father and I have to say I found it rather mindboggling even to look at!

Yes, its an S40.At first it seems like button overload but its grand when you get used to it. A lot of those buttons are for stereo/radio and can by bypassed by using the steering wheel controls. Have to say, i do love loads of buttons and dials and gadgets on cars:D

Aye, never really gelled with it as much as I thought I would. I'll get some photos of the new bus up later.

I know the feeling, I'm the same with the CC. Had a look at a 330d yesterday but it wasn't tidy. Happy to wait for the right one at the right price to pop up.

Well wear with the Leon btw.

I'd been meaning to reply to that thread - only saw it quickly the other day. They're asking a hefty price for that car, there was a really nice one in Bolands last year but a 335d, lower miles and a year newer for not a lot more.

Yeah, after having another look at the E90 I found it's a bit on the small side, I've gotten used to the space of the CC. Might try and sell the CC privately towards the end of the year and go to the UK for a 530d.

What are those silver thingies on the steering wheel?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,661 ✭✭✭Voodoomelon

Thanks! They're for manual gear shifting. Two more buttons on the back for upshifting. Utterly pointless and a bit uncomfortable to be honest!

Was going to post my touareg dash but no need now. That dash is the climax. Anything else would be the cuddling that is just spurious

Just to be that anti climax here's a pic of mine from a few months back about another 8k miles on her now.

Its still quite conservative compared to the mk2 Prius interior. Looks easier to keep clean too.

To be honest I don't find the dash overly attractive. Clean, sure, and the real exposed wood is nice but I think there's plenty of posted dashes here that are just as nice.
