Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The NLD: Tottenham Hotspur Vs Arsenal, K/o 4pm SS1

Spurs take on The Gunners at WHL where they shipped 3 goals to a superior Benfica side on Thursday - but this is a whole different kettle of worms. Spurs need a win to keep their faint CL hopes alive, Gunners need a win to keep spurs at arms length and to keep their faint title hopes alive. although the gunners have won both encounters this season so far, today anything could happen. Especially with Mike "Tottenham" Dean reffing.

Tottenham (Possible, 4-4-2): Lloris; Naughton, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Rose; Lennon, Paulinho, Sandro, Dembélé; Adebayor, Soldado.
Out: Capoue (ankle), Chiriches (back), Dawson (hamstring), Lamela (thigh).
    Tests: Dembélé (hamstring), Walker (pelvis).
Arsenal (Possible, 4-2-3-1): Szczesny; Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Vermaelen; Arteta, Flamini; Cazorla, Rosicky, Podolski; Giroud.
Out: Diaby, Walcott (both knee), Özil (hamstring), Ramsey (thigh), Wilshere (foot).
    Test: Gibbs (calf).

delighted to see poldi start - hope he plays like he did 2nd half against bayern

Glad to see Poldi getting a well deserved chance.
    We need his game.

Really looking forward to this, it should be a belter, unlike the Liverpool v Man United game which was a non-event. I think Arsenal will sneak this 1-2.

Reckon it'll be Spurs 1-3 Arsenal with Ox as MOTM.

    Have Poldi to score first

Spurs look like they are hoping to catch Arsenal on the counter attack. Bad call imo.

I think you guys will probably win this at a canter. Unfortunately!

Well a draw is useless to either team now.

Lets hope Arsenal start well and win but we have a poor bench with all the injuries. No game changer on the bench.

Very little optimism going into this. Best we can seem to hope for is a 0-0 draw.

Hopefully this is better than the dross we've seen so far. The NLD is usually my favourite non-United fixture of the season.

    My preferred commentary team-nice

Pitch looks in bad shape. Not much grass on it in places.

This camera angle at White Hart Lane always annoys me for some reason.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

I always find that camera angle quite strange when watching Spurs at home for some reason.

    That rosicky goal, just wow.
I haven't heard Martin Tyler scream like that at an arsenal match since the Henry days

That should have been a yellow for a high boot there but then again it's Dean.

What's the chances of Adebayor being sent off here?
He always goes OTT against arsenal, might score too

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,017 ✭✭✭Chagan

That finish was like the anti-Rosicky. Was caught in two minds.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,408 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

FFS Oxo that was neither a pass or a shot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Sherwood will be down to his boxers if this keeps up.

  • Administrators, Computer Games Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 32,409 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭Mickeroo

Sherwood is annoyed at that miss as anyone.

Bad tackle by Sagna, yellow was right though.

I didn't think it was that bad, but I can see how it might warrant a yellow.

One footed, kept low and won the ball. It looked bad in real time though because of the speed and the way the Spurs player ended up flipping. Definitely not a red IMO, yellow fair enough.

Yep, there's something intensely unlikable about the way Dean carries himself in those situations though.

More like "STRONG TACKLE BACARY SAGNA".
