Want to close Windows 8.1 Pro Account...?

I walked myself into opening a Windows account - though I said "No" (I think) to the bit about using Cloud and copying everything to it.

Now, I've just started the computer and was presented with a very colourful screen and then asked for my Windows account password (my email address already filled in) I had the computer setup so that it started without any password required.

How do I close this account and get back to where I was?

    Thanks.

    D.

You need to log in once with your email address password then switch to a local account. This link has instructions

there are multiple sign in options for a computer, including biometric with the right peripherals, and with windows 8 a picture password or pin code are 2 other easy ones.

I advise against rolling back purely because you want to be less secure. It's like asking the bank to take the PIN code off your debit card just because you don't like entering it. Great thing altogether until someone has access to your card or in this case your PC.
