DBS for arts degree

I'm lookin for some advice about doing an arts degree (part time) in DBS and I was wondering will it be as recognisable as dcu or pats? I'm hoping to go on and do my hdip and go into teaching but iv nobody to ask!! It's not an option to quit work so part-time is the only option!!
