Closing/Removal of Coolmine level crossing

Hi, Has anyone got information on plans to get rid of the level crossings at Coolmine and Ashtown. I believe IE have plans for this but have not announced if they are just going to close it or build a new bridge. It woudl be quite a challenge to build a bridge at Coolmine without closing the road for months. The Labour…

Hi,

The Labour party are having a meeting this week in Laurel Lodge about it but I cant go so if anyone has any information it would be great to get it online.

No, while the Porterstown and Ratoath Road level crossings are in the latter stages of being removed the plan is to remove all level crossings from the line - so Ashtown and Coolmine are destined to go as is Clonsilla. I found a relevant thread here http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=88719618 but no one seems to know anything detailed about the plans and I haven't heard anything from the meeting in kavanaghs.
