Doing my first track meet (1500) in Tallaght tomorrow. Where is best to warmup? My mile PB is 4:53 and I registered in D. Based on June results in Tallaght maybe I will get a better run in the C grade? Any advice?

there's a small park right behind the track you can use to warm up, and if you talk to the organisers on the evening they should be able to guide you on the best race, maybe switch you down

With a 4:53 mile, you'd be better off in the "C". Just sign the "C" sheet when you're picking up your number. Depending on the numbers, the number of Grade C races, and how soft your mile time is, there should be a good few in and around your standard.

Yes that was a solo mile time trail on a 400 meter gravel track. I'd hope to give it a good lash with the conditions of the Graded meet. I would most likely run a better race with a higher standard.

Very decent time for your 1st ever track race! Get in some base over the next few months and hit the indoors with a bang next Jan! 2nd in the C race, hmm sorry I was cheering for the chap who won it :P

My strategy didn't work out in my race, just not race fit and I wasn't mentally willing to push through the pain the last 400, alongside lacking the fitness needed for that part of the race :(. Still it all counts and was good craic!

Thanks! Yes we had a good battle it would have been harder for him if I hadn't got boxed in earlier in the race. I used a lot of juice getting back into position on the 3rd lap. Great vibe really enjoyed it.

Results from last week still not up, usually they are very prompt.
    Anyone hear of a problem?

So, it's not just me refreshing the Dublin Athletics page then?!

I'd say it's just that it was the last one of the season that it was less of a priority to get them up quickly. They had all the sheets at the end of the night so they do exist!

I seem to remember that the results from the first one were a bit slow being published too.

Yes, just under a second from it - your timing estimate was quite accurate! Looking forward to next summer already...

All Dublin Graded Meets finished for the year - so they've started planning next years. There's a pretty small group who run all these meets and they could use more people getting involved, and more volunteer officials. If you want to help out or just send feedback, PM me and I'll send you the contact email
