Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi, on the GV on askaboutireland in the townland of Bunacurry, parish of Achill my GG Grandfathers house is shown in zone 16 D, but when I look in ledger there no reference to it at all, it only goes up to 15, when there is clearly 17 zoned areas in that townland, can anyone explain why that is?

The actual Griffith's maps can be viewed on computers in the National Library, or I believe the National Archives and several other locations. They are also available on OriginsNetwork (pay) website.

They maps AskAboutIreland opted to use are dated a bit later than the actual valuation, so dont always correspond exactly. Their maps are quite clear, in colour with clear townland boundaries etc, whereas the older version are in black and white and not as easy to decipher.

On askaboutireland site the ledger doesn't account for the map, it clearly shows 4 houses in that zone, but there's no mention of it in the ledger, I was just wondering if any one else had the same problem, so I'm guessing if I when're to look at the original ledgers I might find what I'm looking for

article on Irish Genealogy News about upcoming update to the Griffith's Valuation maps on the AskAboutIreland website, should include some dated closer to the time of the valuation for most areas.
