Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Brake Pads?

    Hi folks,

I just changed the brake pads on my bike. The old ones were well worn (16,000km!).

The new ones are slightly wider than the old ones, and so were gripping the inside and outside circumference of the rotor where the old pad didn't wear down. This naturally lead to poor breaking, but it's getting better as the rotor evens out.

The new pads are "ceramic" Korean jobs (it's a Hyosung bike) but even after bedding in don't seem as good as the OEMs.

Are ceramic pads generally less grippy or should I expect them to bed in more?

Might be just crap pads. The ceramic ones for normal bikes are generally a longer lasting pad at the expense of grip
