Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

1-0 UCD. If we dont turn it around i fear we could be the whipping boys this year, last years Shelbourne but worse.

Playing good football. Deservedly lead at the break but Athlone certainly aren't out of it. Can't see our defence not conceding.

    2,750 tonight at Cross

About as easy as its going to get for City. Bray were nothing special especially the final third.

Cant complain with the Cork victory at all. Should do well this season and cause some trouble. Bray didnt necessarily play badly, just the penalty killed the game.

If it had got to 1-1 and in fairness Bray had 1 or 2 chances then things might have ended different.

Seen far worse sides then Bray, but ye seemed to lack a bit creativity and width tonight. When ye did get the ball down the wings ye caused bit of trouble near the end.

Yeah exactly, wouldn't argue against it. That number 24 is a great sub to have against tired legs.

    Well that hurt.

We are terrible at the back. Memery was especially bad, at fault for 2 of the goals.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Hopefully getting Anto back will help. Put him at right back and Pender on the left.

If things don't seriously improve, we're going to concede a lot this season.

Kick off delayed by 15mins at Dalymount.

They didn't in the end. It was an organisational joke outside that main stand. Big crowd which took Bohemians by surprise. Plenty of Rovers fans in the Bohemians section too, all cheering when Rovers scored. They were at the opposite end of the stand to the hardcore Bohemians fans.

Last weeks game was much better for a neutrals perspective. They quality of play was extremely poor and Bohemians were a mess tactically tonight. Referee didn't have a good game either. Didn't think much of Rovers either to be honest.

I would advise everyone to have a look at Ayman Bin Mohamad's goal for UCD on Monday night. Picked it up on halfway and beat 3 or 4 men before dinking it over the keeper.

Deservedly won but we made it so difficult. Could have won by 3 or 4 but started to sit back with 20 minutes to go and Athlone scored from nothing. They could have easily snatched an equaliser in the last few minutes.
Got the win which is all that matters. Hopefully another will come next Friday.

Were athlone very poor? seems like a good few of them are out of their depth already, granted i have only seen them twice this season.

Drogs were very poor tonight. Lucky to get a point. Patterson wasteful for Derry.

5-0 to the Harps and top of the league, great start to the weekend, could have been more too

3 clean sheets and 8 goals in the last 2 games from 6 different players without our 2 main strikers who scored ALL our league goals until a midway through last season, it has to be some cause for optimism!

Bring on Galway next Saturday... pitch will need some work tho, terrible weather up here

Started pretty well. Were the better team for the first fifteen minutes or so. Got in behind our defence a few times but just the final touch was lacking. Your number 23 caused a lot of trouble down the left in the first half and put in some good crosses that Gorman should have done better with.
We started to take control from then until around the 70th minute. For the last 20, you caused a fair few problems and we would have had no cause to complain if you got an equalizer. O'Donnell in our goals made some very good stops towards the end.

Raging about the Bohs match. Could anyone understand why the Bohs goal was disallowed? Was there with a family member who does refereeing, they were convinced the ref was wrong.

Fairly sure it was offside. Took a deflection off Corcoran I think.

That felt good. Nobody rested, no mad formations, no Bayly (until 1-3 up) brings results.

It's a fiercely contested derby, as bohsboy's signature records, even when Bohs are on it, there's not many goals. First time Rovers scored three there since 2005 I think.

Arguably the best performance on the pitch. Looked pretty solid all night.

Last kick of the game OG from Shels to gift Waterford with a draw............... old habits die hard! I'll take the 7 points, would have loved 9. A win on Sunday week would be nice.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,299 ✭✭✭spiralism

Really worried about Athlone's prospects this season already and we're only three games in. Doesn't seem the team is up to scratch and Cooke's hallmark of making his teams tough defensively and difficult to beat hasnt shown at all yet, we're soft defensively

Thought athlone were decent in the first game. Then realized in the second that we are just awful.

Those two goals, Waterford scored, were not much better, we looked pretty nervous for a time. But when the 3:2 settled my nerves, then came that OG. Football can be cruel

1,000 ish at their opening game in the defence of their title and now no more than around 600 today (doubt there's many in the Camac in the pishing of rain). And Pats seem to think they can slag clubs about attendances......

Disappointing result, lacking urgency and a Cb pairing of Oman and Foran :(

There was plenty on the Camac. That's where the SEI are having their 'strike'.

Looked to me like the whole Patricks support was on strike today. Shocking turnout from the champions.

Ultras on strike. Oman being brutal. McCormack being a makeshift full back and no doubt sulking. Quigley stealing a wage.

Are Pats 2014 Rovers 2013? :pac:

Throwing their toys out of the pram it seems, the ciclyical nature of the LoI is just crazy.

Poor match between Rovers and bohs in all honestly. It was exciting and such but the level of football was poor. The only benefit for Rovers is we're scoring goals while playing bad, that's a first under Croly. Back to one up front too, that whole 4-4-2 didn't last very long sadly enough.
