Hi, I have a dell studio 1558 laptop that is overheating which in turn is knocking itself off. Can someone please advise steps to how I can fix this problem?

There's a fair bit of disassembly required to get to the fan and remove the fluff that causes warm air to not be expelled properly. If you're not confident, take it to a shop.
