Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Fans can be blind to there own teams blatant wrongs .

We need one for Torres, even a 2 yard tap in

As I said above , we have the benefit of the slow mo reply , the ref does not,

He deserved his red ( although Gibbs got it) , plain and simple , was a stupid thing to do.

    6-0

The ref didn't see the incident at all. Had no intention to send anyone off

Well thank god I decided not to watch this. I knew this was going to be a bad day given all the hype about this game.

Ah thats it , it was the evil Chelsea players who told him to send them man off and he obliged , even worse might even have been the more supper duper evil John Terry who told him to do it.

It was going to be rout either way at leasts you's have yet another excuse for another whopping failure on Arsene's behalf.

They have no leaders on the pitch. That is part of the problem.

No one is denying the rout. We are discussing the red card and it's validity. Don't try mix the arguments in to one to make the wrong one look better.

Rite if its not a RED , Im sure the ban will just be rescinded and not handed onto Ox , what do you think ?

Looking at the video posted it looked as if Marnier didn't see the incident at all.

I thought it wouldn't be, but Nox posted a link earlier that suggests the FA might transfer the ban.

I think Michael Owen thinks Torres wants to get on the score sheet , a least its the only commentary he has made for the last 20 mins

Its a red and peno any other call would have been wrong, it was the easiest decision he got wrong by sending off Gibbs.

Wonder what excuse Wenger will use, will probably pin the game on it even though they were 2-0 down and falling to pieces already.

What's the justification for the red?

Yeah they did say it can be transferred , but If it wasnt deemed to be a RED by the Authorities then surely they wont just give it to him for the sake of it

A wizard might have directed the ball into the goal so it denied a goal apparently.

Handball 3/4 yards from the goal line, hes stopping a goal scoring opportunity with a deliberate handball.

The ball hasnt hit him, hes dived, hand out to divert the ball away from the goal.

No he wasn't. The ball was going wide.

But diving like a goal keeper to your left to deflect a ball away is ok and shouldnt be a red or a peno nah?

Quite difficult for the referee to judge that.

It's easy to say that after slow motion replays, multiple camera angles and analysis

In real time he deliberately dived with his hand out to stop the ball going in

    Definite red

You know spring is here as its usually signalled by the complete capitulation of Arsenal's title charge

    Quazzie wrote: »

He wasn't sure if the ball was on target or not.
He instinctively stuck out his arm to try and stop a goal (or so he thought).

It's a pretty cut and dry red card.

Plenty of goalkeepers will tip shots like that around the post to be sure it's going wide.

Definitely a peno. I don't think anyone denied that. Where the argument is that it shouldn't be a red as it didn't prevent a goal. A goal was never going to happen. It was a deliberate handball that was punishable by a penalty and that's as far as it should've gone
Quite difficult for the referee to judge that.

Especially when he didn't see it. ;)

If you say anything remotely negative about Arsenal, even if it's completely justified, you can expect Quazzie to be staunchly defending them.
