Dog Selfie - raise money for charity

With the recent #nomakeupselfie craze making alot of money for cancer research I was thinking that something similar could be done to raise money for animal charities.

Take a picture of your dog with #dogselfie hashtag and post to facebook asking people to donate €2 via text to your animal/dog charity of choice.Screenshot of text to prove to your friends you donated would be helpful :)

I think that it could be a bit overkill at the moment with the no make up selfie still dong the rounds, but it would be a great idea to try start it up in maybe a couple of weeks time :)

I was thinking about this recently... I'm good mates with the manager of our local maxi zoo... And I'm a designer... With a photography hobby.

I was going to put it to him to offer puppy/doggy (any pet really) portraits, with say, a 5 or 10 euro donation per pic - to <snip>. Proper set up - studio lights and backdrop.

For that, I'd supply a 4x6 or 5x8 print or two. And your pic emailed to you...

What ye think? Would ye 'bite'?

Guys, I love this idea but initial thread had to be deleted and edited due to forum Charter rules.

Keep the ideas coming but please no naming individual rescues thanks.

Once you'd put up with my crazy cats then yeah no bother :P only thing is to maybe have separate dates for cats/dogs/ other pets as I could imagine too many animals around would make anything other then socialised dogs uncomfortable and harder to photograph!

Do people even know what a selfie is, because it doesn't sound like it from reading the above posts?

I'm in Limerick... What I'm asking is, not... Would ye travel to limerick...

Moreso, if it was offered to ye locally - would a pet portrait be something ye'd spend money on...

Me too. But then, my dad has English Bulls, so I'm very biased.
