shocking rest shot hes blown this match mcmanus was sweating too

  • Registered Users Posts: 179 ✭✭AlwaysAnyTime

Think McManus has this frame unless he makes a mistake, the noise from the other table is so annoying even for viewers. Imagine trying to focus on a shot!

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,513 ✭✭✭seanhynes

thats a ridiculous shot to take along the rails ffs Ken

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,906 ✭✭✭SarahBM

So there was no point setting it to record on BBC then!?!? Great. I hope ken wins. Just saw there he took 3 out of the last 4 frames. Has he a shot?

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,513 ✭✭✭seanhynes

needs the next 5 to win, he blew it this morning he didnt wake up till the 7th frame of the session

    He does not :-(

... Ken would need to pull out something special at this stage...like Kirk Stevens's (of old) special shooting powder..?!
He seems to me to be playing at a faster pace than he used to years ago...

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,292 ✭✭✭Adamocovic

Well Id say thats all folks

Yeah, agreed. Also he missed a lot of key shots by whacking the ball out of it, that might have worked back in 1997 or whenever he won this but if I'm not wrong the jaws/pockets have changed somewhat since then?

  • Registered Users Posts: 179 ✭✭AlwaysAnyTime

Aww, the championship just got that bit less interesting

Yeah true...he seems a bit jumpy at times on shots, not like before, but still, fair play, hegot that far so more luck to him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,513 ✭✭✭seanhynes

selby will win by a heavy margin the next day anyhow it was delaying the inevitable if he got through,Ken cannot break build anymore, selby would have embarrased him which im sure he will do to Alan Mc the next day

is the bbc actually able to show the sessions that they're cutting short?

or has eurosport outbid them or something?

bit of a shocker the way they're carrying on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,890 ✭✭✭tomdempsey200

puts to bed some of these conspiracy theories about big pockets and modern players anyhow

alan and ken not being able to pot a ball

    or is that over-simplification?

    red button job

I'd say the BBC isn't getting the viewership that they used to so elected to not show it all day

  • Registered Users Posts: 78 ✭✭Choodefat

What's the craic with the bbc messing with the old snooker theme tune 'drag racer'? - classics are called classics for good reason, the feckers hah.
Feck it I'm off for the first game of snooker in years - night all!

Only one match on Red button and on Saturday there was no red button game as they were showing final score. It's a pity because for Winbledon next summer they will have 6 or 7 games on the red button and not one game will be cut short.

Ya it's just a choice of one match anymore on red button, they haven't even an evening session anymore on BBC ,Theyv cut back on it a lot u kind of need Eurosport if u want to watch it wall to wall ,Theyv given it a lot coverage and backing in comparison to the BBC

Eurosport were my saving grace with the Olympics too..they show all.of the swimming. The BBC don't seem to think ppl want to watch the actual matches. They are all about replaying the black ball final and showing fancy stuff with Hawkeye and interviews. I like that stuff too but not when there is actual snooker going on.

barry Hearne must be behind this nonsense with the easy pockets

did he make the dartboards bigger by any chance

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,184 ✭✭✭✭Pighead

Ken would want to pack it in.
He was awful this week but he still managed to walk away with €20000 worth of prize money. Not bad for four or five matches worth of snooker.

they've been using a remixed version for years. Here's the original

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,906 ✭✭✭SarahBM

If you have a BetFair account you can watch all the matches with BBC commentary. That's what I do.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 287 ✭✭cack_handed

Some people use Bet365 as well i think but dont know if you need to have a bet first. Betfair is a good option but only problem is you cant enlarge the live video screen and it's a bit small for my ailing eyes!

Iv got the Robertson match on the laptop at the mo, but I wanted to watch Fu. Last frame of this session.

  • Registered Users Posts: 47 Piratez

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,873 ✭✭✭Redo91

Is there no more live snooker on BBC this evening? No sign of it on the red button.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,906 ✭✭✭SarahBM

Robertson V Allan is on Eurosport 1. BBC only showed an hour of that match this evening. Really annoyed with their coverage. Not everyone has a "connected device" that they keep referring to. I dont even know what that means!
and I cant watch the red button on upc. so laptop it is.

8-7 to Robertson at the mo. Robertson has 99 centuries this season. wow.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,906 ✭✭✭SarahBM

9-7 to Robertson going into the final session tomorrow.

BBC have made big cutbacks to their redbutton service, its not just snooker that is seeing them. All their football and rugby league highlights are gone from it as well. Connected device is smart tv connected to broadband, unfortunately for us, its U.K only
Great evening of snooker on eurosport for me! Robertson finally broke free to lead 9-7 overnight

    why?

Was watching Robertson match on eurosport on tv while keeping tabs on Murphy-Fu on the laptop. Two excellent sessions of snooker, hoping for an Allen victory but the aussie just went up a gear there -enjoyed the run of the balls it has to be said - and will be hard to stop tomorrow. Still give Fu a chance of a comeback, didn't do a whole lot wrong this evening

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,089 ✭✭✭afatbollix

    why?

    To save cash.

No transmission fees over Connected tvs so saving aload of cash straight away with out having to cut services.

****e for people with out a connected tv but sure what can you do.

    ok

seems odd cutting back on red button and main channel coverage simultaneously

they've cut back on the red button stuff about 2 years now, but there's certain events they make an exception to, such as the summer and winter Olympics

What is up with dale's hair? It looks terrible, played very well though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 212 ✭✭Fant11

Ronnie is 5/6 to win it outright. Any thoughts lads? Haven't seen much

I still wouldnt bet on him with them odds even though hes playing well, robertson is on fire and if they meet in the final i could see him winning but you never know with ronnie he can play unbelievable when he wants to.

I reckon McManus/Selby won't make the 3rd session. McManus' safety game won't work on the Jester from Leicester.
