Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Mata dropped his shoulder to make a run a couple of times standing behind Demichelis. An out to in ball was on.

True but the way that clown Neville saw it, Welbeck should have been gone.

Yeah, really a clown. Best analyst out there. Not the best co-commentator but his studio stuff is excellent.

Baffling that Cleverley started ahead of Fletcher. He would've provided some stability and resilience in midfield at least. No threat from wide areas at all so far - Valencia is needed. Rafael is having no luck out there and he needs Valencia to link up with which could at least unsettle Demichellis and create some space for Rooney in behind City's back four.

Have to say it city are a class above us but u can't fault were at least trying tonight. Sad thing is team just and good enough overall. But the heart is there u can see there trying.

United's big problem is the lack of mobility with their midfield trio, and then lack of pace going forward, Welbeck aside.

Moving Mata in central was key to them stepping it up a bit moving forward, but getting Valencia on by half time at least will be needed.

You would fear a little for Fellaini and Carrick against Toure and Fernandinho, 2v2, for 65 minutes more though. Especially when you have Silva dropping behind them both, and no hope of Mata continuously dropping back.

Fellaini is absolutely worthless when we don't have the ball. Zero work rate. Not good enough at United.

    Enjoyable game so far.

I've never noticed it before, by god Cleverley does love a good point doesn't he :) he's worse than Spearing was for it.

    No why?

He had ample opportunity to pull out of it just before there was a heavy touch, or deflection off the City player, but he continued a hopeless cause at pace and clipped himself whilst smashing into a player.

    Could have easily gone.

you know you cant get sent off without even contacting a player, yea?

What are you on about??? He slipped, didnt trip himself.
He couldn't pull out as he was full speed and then the left foot slipped, so he flew into him, yellow is the right decision.

I'm struggling with the meaning of your last sentence... But Im guessing you meant can instead of can't.

  • Registered Users Posts: 200 ✭✭DM360

    Fellaini should have gone there.

Great save from De Gea though, even if it came from his own mistake

Cleverley doing good work off the ball

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

Another ref might have given him a yellow for his tackle on Silva near the start, too.

He's always had that streak in him though.

Cleverly actually hasn't been bad after the first 10 min or so.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 2,833 ✭✭✭Vinz Mesrine

He won't last the 90 now, a blatant red.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,387 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

A lot of players raise their arms like that but aren't as tall as Fellaini, wasn't really looking at Zaba but definitely a yellow.

He is clown when he's co-commenting. He does have time to think of something intelligent and always talks rubbish. Terrible he is. His voice is awful also. Id rather Niall quinn. And Im not joking.

Are you serious? It's a red card all day long.

How can the referee justify giving a yellow for that elbow? It's either a red or nothing.

Most don't lead with their elbow tho.

Never liked him. He was a dirty fcuker at Everton, with those stray elbows. And it looks like he's continuing it. How the ref didn't send him off is a mystery. And he did see it.

Rafael is too slow releasing the ball.

Fellaini is a terrible baller. How anybody thought he'd be good enough for us is a joke. What a terrible player.

His reaction should make no difference. The referee bottled it. If he was going to give a card for that the only one he should be giving is red.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,027 ✭✭✭willowthewisp

In fairness like, how did Fellaini get away with that elbow?
