Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's actually mental that Kagawa is on the bench and Cleverly on the pitch

Could you put that on a postcard and send it to Moyes please? He is failing to realise what is obvious to everyone else.

Worst person on the pitch in the first half is by far the Ref.

I have to say the referee has been very good tonight .

Been generous to the home side on 3 occasions wrt dealing with the Wellbeck, Fellaini and Rooney fouls.

Now Rooney gets away without a card. The ref is having a real shocker out there tonight.

Indeed, giving red cards in 1st half spoils the game.

I agree with you. But you just said this as the ref made a mistake. Defo a yellow for Rooney

Fellaini should be off and Rooney booked. Welbeck is a footballer?

Surprised reading through this thread, I thought Fellani was uniteds best player in the first half.

Rooney gets away with murder with refs.

Big English players always do, and always have.

    Another new record for Moyes.

If players put themselves in a position to warrant a red card then they should be sent off, regardless of whether it spoils the game or not. The rules can't be adjusted based on the entertainment value implementing them will bring.

Ya, the ref has been good. No yellow for Rooney is a bit strange considering he had just booked Fernadinio

Edit, that elbow was awful. Should have been off.

it saves them from getting slated for weeks afterwards unfairly in the media, my first interduction to this was over 20 years ago when paul gascgoine got away with murder in the fa cup final against nothingham forrest

the ref said afterwards that it would have been unfair to ruin his big day given all he had done with england before hand

    And Nev isnt biased???
He loves utd and anything England.
Also, he sits on the fence quite often when an incidence happens, And the latest example is Fellini's elbow. He could have said, I agree with the ref, or I think its a red. But he wont make up his mind...
And by the way, I said quinner cause his voice is annoying but Nev is way worse. Nails on the black board. Unnnnnnbelievable!!!!

We'll agree to disagree cause its not a thread bout Gazza Nev.
But keep an eye/ear out for an incident in this match and see what Neville says or doesnt say. He'll be on that fence I tells ya!!!!

Well there's a reason he is widely respected and praised for his punditry. Also, he said that both Welbeck and Rooney were lucky to get away with a yellow. Not really sitting on the fence.....

Anyway , United have improved a bit but some changes are needed. Get Valencia on to run at City's defence and create some space for Rooney and Welbeck. Silva needs to be shut down and United's defence has looked weak.

United lucky to still have 11 men though.

Yeah; right. Funny there's no mention of it on the Sky or BBC sites. And how did Zabba deserve it? Serious question.

And that is near enough the view the ref will have had,

Regardless of how tall you are, or how small the other player is, you don't shield the ball like that.

That's not shielding the ball. It's a deliberate lunge.

    Blatent red. Ref bottled it

    Awful stupidly by Fellaini

    Should be off

City too good for United but there's a goal in this united side if City don't up the tempo.

Yeah Fellani will surely get banned for that retrospectively no?

That was vicous, and you can't say "well x player elbowed y earlier, so Z deserved it"... cop on, that's child like mentality. Your man applauding is an idiot.

He was given a yellow so nothing more will happen.

Nope, because the referee gave the yellow I'm pretty sure they can't go back and ban him.

    yellow all day.

Fellaini is useless ,never a Utd player .How Utd paid 27 million for the clown is beyond me .

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,683 ✭✭✭LightningBlue

Phil Jones never seems to be in the right position defensively. He was horribly exposed on the 1st goal.
He just seems to drift around aimlessly and has to fling himself into a recovery tackle every single time.

Cleverly is far from the worst midfielder on the pitch.

Never thought I'd say it but I'd leave him on!

    Kagawa ON, Cleverley OFF.

Probably one of Cleverley's better games but he's not a big match player
