The legendary 20/20 Innings

Sometimes 20/20 can be bleak, pitches the size of postage stamps and useless domestic trundlers bowling toilet to sloggers, but like the other 2 formats, we have had some genuinely superb knocks over the years.

Firstly Samuels against Lanka in World cup final, the team had got off to an awful start, but he rescued it with a superb 78. Samuels also targeted Malinga and smashed him which really knocked the Lanka confidence to see their star bowler murdered in front of his home fans. They then defended that total, a fantastic moment for West Indies cricket.

Next, hussey v Pakistan, team were struggling and then 60 of 24 in a world cup semi final against a gun bowling attack. Afridi and most surprising Ajmal murdered, has he ever been battered like this since?

So what for you are the iconic 20/20 spells since its birth?

Sorry to be blatantly plugging my home team but the Steelbacks on finals day 2013 in England nailed it all, runs, fielding (bar couple of fluffs) and bowling pretty well perfect. Willey took a hat trick, a run out and a catch, Crook White and Levi sent the ball to all corners of the ground and it was glorious.

The smashing of Dernbach was entertaining as well.:P

Yeah ye were very good that day, shame Wiley got injured would like to think he would have been given a go by England in the 20/20 this year ahead of some of the usual failures.

A friend earlier also suggested along with Trego, Napier, Crook would have been a good outside the box selection for England as well. Very good call he smashed a good Essex attack all around the place and can go really big when in.

A non Northants biased reply for a change: The Finch innings against England last year was impressive stuff, think it's still the record score isn't it. Lot of orthodox cricket shots in amongst the carnage.

Which also had Jade Dernbach been smashed to all parts. Sensing a theme here:D

Aaron Finch's 150 against England last summer. Was Jade playing in that game?

Not really a fan of T20 but now that you reminded me, Samuels knock in that final was special. Dilshan had a few too, when he first brought out the 'dilscoop'. I think there was one against Australia. Brendan McCullum and Chris Gayle have done special things too. Yuvraj's six 6s against Broad?
