Internet wifi problems

I have a problem with my wifi in house , I have a double exstantion on the side of my house and the wifi is not so good on that side , the question is , I have the LAN plugs going from the ntl router in the sitting room and I have a spare router can I put to routers on the same network ?? If do how or what do I have to do…
