Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I need to hire a jeep next month for a day.
I am moving house and my coupe isn't suitable.
I have driven jeeps before and have full driving licence and comprehensive insurance.

any ideas or hire companies that could help? I can only find cars.

Eh, this is the radio forum.
You might have better luck in the Motoring forum's 4x4 section.

A van will be cheaper and more practical unless you need 4 wheel drive to move house.

I'm in Drogheda but moving stuff from Wexford. Its not a full house move - very little furniture - mostly just bags and boxes of stuff..... thats why I want a jeep - dont need a big van really :-)

Rent a small - medium van, jeep hire won't be cheap even if you can find one.

These rent out short wheelbase Pajeros, but as said, I fail to see why you would need one for this job. But if you want one, then the lads in Ballymount have them.

thank for your help..... I have driven jeeps before and not vans - also I only have bags and boxes so I didnt think I would need a bigger van - never driven one before. Thats my reason for wanting a jeep!

will check out those links :-)

small van like a caddy or connect would be cheaper to hire and way cheaper on diesel to get to wexford, they are just like driving a car if thats what you are worried about

Or hire an estate car/people carrier , which will hold all a jeep will hold and is easier to hire. Fold the back seats and away you go. Although you'd be amazed what you can fit into a normal car if you fold the rear seats, especially a hatchback. A ford c-max or a picasso are cavernous with the seats out of the way.

yeah I know.... but I have a lovely Megane coupe and I dont want to wreck it with boxes in and out of it..... also its not the best for space as the roof is very low. Good idea getting an estate car though ..... thanks.
