Apparently they've gotten rid of saves on external hard drives to cut down on people editing saves.

That answers that then, cheers :)
Game saves are now associated with profiles/accounts and are stored on MS servers. You can add your profile to any additional Xbox One consoles.

No use if the additional console is offline all the time :(

Why does my Xbox keep telling me I don't have my password or profile saved won't let me do anything

    Hmm, why have it offline?

Surely even a quick internet connection hotspot from a phone is good enough to retrieve a cloud save from another Xbox.

Disaster, had the 360 for nearly 8 years and i remember it only going down for half an hour in all the countless hours of gaming. There's something up the One every week.

Live is down, it makes things go mental.

Live is the same service on both consoles.

When Live is down isn't it possible to launch games by going to My Games & Apps instead of Pins?

Yes, as long as you have home console set you can play offline games. I do not have this console set as my home console though :(

Not set by default on the new dash preview it seems. You;d imagine it would create and cache saves as you play the games, but no you actually do have to go in and set as the home console.

Bit weird it reset home console if you didn't OOBE. It's times like this i regret letting a mate have my games :(

Phil Spencer in response to a tweet asking about the fact that an Xbox Live outage will basically render your console useless, with even apps like Netflix taken offline.

    MOD NOTE:

Threads on the Xbox Live outage have been merged into the main thread.

He had an impossible job of coming in to fix the mess Don Mattrick made. He actually listens to gamers, he says it's all about the games but with each E3 in charge, he further backs that up. If you're into gaming history, here's a really interesting vid with the current and past Xbox bosses.

Thats a great video right there! I can't help but think what the Xbox One would be if he had of been in charge from day one... I feel it would have been a different beast altogether. I love my Xbox One and with each change Phil makes, it gets better and better.

Great video, found it really interesting. Three of them were very upfront and honest, and gave a real insight of everything that went on behind the scenes from the beginning.

Playing a little bit of it right now.

I wasn't expecting much but actual in game graphics are a lot better than I anticipated!

The (cheaply made) movie like cut scenes even tho a little cheesy are quirky in a good way.

I like the way the cars so far are standard like your 2000 Civic Type R, Ford Mustang Foxbody 1990 looks a bit like an old escort, and a 2014 Subaru Impreza and the way it appears like a video of the real versions of them cars but with your HUD displayed over them for which one you want to choose.

What do you think of it?
