Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I agree that it's not the end of the world by any means.

But after two years of hard work it is very tough on those who have to wait a whole year to resit the exams.

It shouldn't be that hard for them to stage repeats in August.

This caller is spot on. Same goes for elections and census jobs.

You don't have to be a teacher to supervise an exam?

I doubt that her daughter is all that pushed about doing the Leaving Cert. I wouldn't have been.

No she doesn't. who decides whats a genuine medical complaint - we'll have every child coming in with a medical cert looking for a time to suit them. That's life, you have to fit in with everyone else, not everyone fitting in with you.

Joe mentioned August, I'm convinced a researcher is watching this thread :P

Or is one of us on this thread ...

    ....but who?

Wish somebody would ring in and tell us how they got around this problem since the year dot when the Leaving Cert was first introduced. I am sure this is not the first year people got sick?

    Adults get shingles, incredibly painful.

But in terms of college places, that's pretty much the same, because they won't be able to go in September.

They might as well wait until next year.

Could set a worrying precedent to allow these things.

I was just thinking the same thing. I had it when I was 12 and I was considered old to be getting it! The older you are the worse it is. I wouldn't fancy doing a 3 hour exam if I had it.

I had it as an adult, I felt lousy for a few days before it, the spots arrived and then I was top notch once the spots came out. You feel worse before arrive, hopefully they'll be ok by tomorrow.
