Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The word accommodation is not always used in the sense that duffy is talking about. It it's not always meant in the sense of actually providing accommodation in the form of a place to stay..

Like for example, "we arrived late for the show, but the producers were very accommodating and held the curtain until we arrived".

    or

"Joe Duffy was a contractor with RTE, and not a full time staff member, when he injured his leg. But RTE were very accommodating and helped Joe, so that he was soon back on his two feet walking around RTE like he owned the fkn place."

Eh Southwest use the word so it is perfectly valid

They could use the word, "fartingbolacacious" and it wouldn't make it a perfectly valid word outside of their peculiar practices.

    Some people think he's posh.

Rats from Spin the Bottle would sound posh after weeks of listening to Joe bastardising the English language.

I tried using Joe's dictionary but there was a lot of ambivalence over the meaning of some of the words..

I know that in some areas, the car is covered by the disabled badge if an able-bodied driver is using it for the purposes of the disabled badge holder, so it can be parked in a disabled spot by an able-bodied driver and no disabled person accompanying them at the time. I wonder if the previous caller was right in his assertion there.

Shoot the breeze? I'd shoot myself in the head if I got stuck in a shed with this lad... The partonising way he speaks "MEN get into bad habits, MEN (the simpletons) need this, MEN need that".. He reminds me of the generalizations made by those "women clever, men stupid" adverts that are prevalent these days..

The missus - who's from the North and had never seen it - thought it was hilarious; commented that she was surprised RTE could produce a comedy of such quality. As we returned to the TV after ejecting the DVD, an ad for Mrs. Browniz Boyiz D'Mooooovie came on and undermined all the good work of Paths to Freedom…..:(
