Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Love the mention of Aubrey!

Mr Duffy is famous for taking up the causes of the downtrodden on Liveline, and examples of this include Berry Fleming who lost her job in 2010, [14] and Aubrey McCarthy, who was trying desperately to get his removal business off the ground in 2012/2013 [15]

Think I might be doing some wikipedia editing tonight…...

Keving Myers made a nice comment:

Journalist Kevin Myers wrote in October 2009, "Throw in some mob-oratory from the national broadcaster's disgraceful 'Liveline', and almost no state institution and no politician is safe from the vengeful, idiot wrath of Madame La Guillotine, or Les Heureuses Tricoteuses."

Best thing he's ever written IMO.

    Meh.
That was five years ago. Joe now only concentrates on 'safe' or 'pet' issues

Maybe it's just my imagination, but any car park I use always seems to have plenty of free disabled spaces?

I'm willing to bet my balls that Joe doesn't know what "tromboning" is, but Mooney does.;)

Google urban dictionary should any of you be puzzled.

Neat wheelchair cars those. Needs to be a relatively high roof on them though and you look like you're in the Popemobile.

Yep, it's amazingly calming after listening to Joe simpering and giggling for half an hour - and that's before The Good Wife solving the problems of the world (anyone notice that she - and Joe - were singing the praises of the Small Claims Court, when she never even got near it, a simple threatening letter was all that was required :D)

catch phrase is not for Joe... he needs to think the catch through before bumbling it out on the radio... "please erm argh stay back" catchy = not

Surely clamping the car that's blocking your entry would be counterproductive

This has always puzzled me, but more in the context of clearways. There was a time that the clampers used to lift a car and dump it around the corner where it wasn't holding up the whole of rush-hour, but they don't seem to do that any more. The just clamp it, ensuring that it'll continue to cause an obstruction for even longer.

Apologies if this has no relevance whatsoever to what's being discussed on the Whineline at the moment (although that would make it oddly appropriate, I suppose!)

I tried to explain that to a clamper once, it was completely lost on him. Not my car btw!

That was pretty much the exact situation I was aluding to in my last post. It serves no purpose other than to frustrate innocent parties and of course collect cash….

And I'm weaning myself off, aspiring to achieve what you seem to have done - the peace of mind that a Joe-free existence would bring. Why on earth did you go back to it
