Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Do you fancy giving up all the rights and improvements that unions brought over the years? I certainly don't.

At first I thought the advertising exec that suggested using Jim Larkin's image to sell beer should be sacked for being ridiculous and quite possibly drunk himself.

Now I think he deserves a promotion and a payrise.

It's obvious now. Put Larkin's boat on a poster for beer. Get a weeks worth of publicity on Liveline !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,404 ✭✭✭✭vicwatson

Yeh Duffy don't be talking about it giving it free advertising - "jim Larkin's family on line 2"

Little does Joe realise that Jim Larkin has as much in common with the likes of him and the Labour Party, as Michael Collins does with Fine Gael and Kenny and Shatter.

Why don't you all (including the voice on the Revenue line) talk over each other, so that we the listening public can understand even less of what's going on.....

Why does Joe think we want to hear about this woman's home subsiding?

    Muck-raking at its worst.

The back of my house subsided, I had to knock it down and rebuild it - should I be ringing Joe?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,739 ✭✭✭sudzs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,879 ✭✭✭signostic

not only did the callers house subside, this edition of lavlahn is slowly subsiding into the abyss...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,723 ✭✭✭An Claidheamh

How does he know they overpaid it?

Revenue are 100% willing to pay you back if you can prove that you overpaid (income tax) - and they do it in jig time. Excellent service to deal with.

Why would anyone have overpaid in the first place??? And why should Revenue be responsible for finding YOUR mistake and rectifying it (when it's of no benefit to them and would cost them money)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27,833 ✭✭✭✭ThisRegard

Duffy is a real dick whenever it comes to this topic, if I worked in revenue I'd be picking him for 'a random' audit every year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,739 ✭✭✭sudzs

Not a word am I getting of this call....

I thought all long-term-ill people were entitled to a medical card - has that changed?

If they're going to go to the trouble of giving you a (double) transplant, they should surely make sure that you can afford to make the most of your new bits......

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,741 ✭✭✭withless

Does anyone have any idea what the point of this call is?

Could you imagine if one of the donor's relations rang in and said "You must be the most ungrateful bi-atch I've ever met. Give us the fekn organs back".

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,723 ✭✭✭An Claidheamh

If Joe's a socialist, shouldn't he be in favour of taxes? For services?

    ....oh wait.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,723 ✭✭✭An Claidheamh

Joe never asks people to "back up" allegations against the civil service,

    ....but when it's the government.

In fairness, I'd rather give this woman a medical card for her meds as she got an illness and had no control over it, rather than some druggie on methadone, who is ill due to their own stupidity, IMO
