Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Why is the thread so quiet today, is it the nice weather?

Some classic morans on today in fairness. I'm still laughing at the women who wanted the election posters taken down in case the Giro D'Italia cyclists were distracted!

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,529 ✭✭✭Mike Guide 69

yes but do we care? When you are looking at Tour de France, or a marathon, would you really be that distracted by a poster? In fact do the posters work at all cos I'm immune to them - don't even see them anymore.

Not really. I can't see professional cyclists being distracted by a few posters. I'd be more worried about the crowds on the road.

Not a fan of election posters myself and I don't pay any attention to them but unless all parties agree to ban them nothing will happen.

Would it not have been better to wait until the legislation is fully in place or ask somebody to define the finer details of the law, rather than let every gobsh1te speculate on what he/she thinks is gonna happen.

this is liveline, common sense ideas like that dont exist in livelineland. a bunch of know nothing experts opinions is what really matters even if its a million miles off the truth

I think, and I'm a bit of a technophobe, that they are trying to say that the legislation is too narrow and doesn't encompass all the new bits of technology like IPAD/ Watches (WTF), that our legislation only covers mobile phones and texting

    I think ...

Tom Geraghty says that the public sector workers suffered worse pay cuts than their equivalents in the private sector... That's because most of the private sector is in Canada where as not one of them lost their job..

Cyclists will be too busy watching for potholes. North of the border they have laid a new road surface along the route, then they hit the south and boy is it rough.

Yes it is amazing Joe the block layer who quit school at 16 wasn't kept on and then couldn't pick up a job with all his skills.

I missed today's show; was too busy hooning around on me bike with a fag in one hand, bottle of gin in the other, while my pillion gave me a shave.
I wasn't wearing a helmet, boots or gloves, either, so suck on that, safety nazis. :)
