Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Tom Geraghty says that the public sector workers suffered worse pay cuts than their equivalents in the private sector... That's because most of the private sector is in Canada where as not one of them lost their job..

they are fond of benchmarking so lets benchmark them with what the private sector are on today

and with the same benefits - or lack of them, so to speak

So no taking 5 years off to find yourself and walking back into your job

no getting paid like the Guards at €12,000 a year NOT to turn up for work (taking time off as its cheaper to pay them a smaller amount than their salary to stay at home, than have them at work on full salary.

Doing two or three Public Service jobs and getting 2 or 3 pensions

However he may be waiting for next Friday as it's a bank holiday weekend

Or why nobody is asking her about the council house she was given but left. It got broken into so she had to move I think. I got broken into a few months ago, I best get myself down to the council and demand another place to live.

The cynic in mean would think that this is a move to force the councils hand as they said she won't be eligible entitled for 9 years for a house.

Given that the whole thing seems to have been designed as a publicity stunt, it could well get an airing on LL.

Last I heard there was an offer of temporary accommodation from a hotel, (another publicity stunt). So that would take the wind out of Joe's sails a bit, ( he doesn't like other people resolving problems that he could have taken the credit for 'resolving').

Maybe if the mother has a rare disease as well............mmmmm...?

From what I read in the paper she'd been living with family/friends for the last 6 months and is now in the car to live for today

Yeah, she's Irish, overstayed her visa, and now wants Joe to call Obama to bend the rules for her and allow her back in.

If you are on a short visa, 30 days, why leave the comings and the goings so tight - why not leave a few days either side of the Visa and then this wouldn't have occurred.

I can't believe they open every registered post item into USA - they must be receiving 10's of 1,000's every day - not believeable
