Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This won't Joe, or his callers say, look at this man going to jail when those lads got away with it.

He's not a fan of comparing like with like.

I hate when people wear the fact that they never received a penny in state aid as some kind of badge of pride.

It suggests that there is something inferior about those whe genuinely rely on it and deserve it.

Oh god, I really don't know am I able for this today.

The Anglo lads were convicted on a very specfic article of Company Law. Are we going to have every one who's ever been sentanced on complaining now.

What does he mean that people's stories were untrue? You mean the researchers actually do some research?

No Joe, he's only going to go as far as the motorway exit. WTF do you think happens.

how do you get into the prison ask joe.

    through the door, duh

This is what bothers me about Liveline, Anglo case was complex and yes people rightly want blood for it but instead of looking at the facts Joe brings on someone, who nobody knows what his background is, to try to whip up a storm.

He's been sentanced for 4 days so in all liklihood he'll be out by tomorrow evening.

Wonder will Joe pay his €700 fine?:)

LOL, that's speculative. Speculation is the basis for how Joes gets 75 minutes per day out of some stories.

How dare this woman speak something approaching sense!

    Get her, Joe!

If you had the option of a €7k fine or four days in prison - which would you take?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,657 ✭✭✭CountyHurler

Oh God... Was this woman listening the last six years... The Government DID step in to stop Anglo from falling and pulling the rest of the banks down...

I dont get this crap that the judge is trying to say that the bank was put in a precarious position by Sean Quinn... The way they were lending long term with from their own short term borrowings, it was gonna end in absolute disaster as soon as the access to funds began to freeze up..

Exactly right, Matt Cooper even had a topic on the last word in July 2007 discussing all the construction workers about to be laid off just before the builders holidays, they were calling it "Black Friday".

Jaysus Joe, would you at least read up on the analysis of the judgement by people who actually know what they're talking about before you have a show about it.

A neighbour of mine had €700 in fines for 2 motoring offences and no TV licence. She couldn't/wouldn't pay. Eventually she had to do the time. two guards 1M 1F brought her from the Donegal border to Mountjoy, stopping for lunch on the way. She did 4 hours on the Joy and they gave her a bus ticket back to Sligo.

There is no documentation in relation to the night of the guarantee NONE

whats the point of an inquiry??

But how is that possible, or credible. Why not make the Finance Minister (is that who Neary reported to) say what was happening.

Stop paying these wasters off with golden handshakes and big pensions, freeze their cash and make them say what happened

    She should have rang Liveline.

"It was a disgrace Joe, I should have got a taxi home".

It'll give a retired judge something to do for an extra bit of money to go with his pension.

No. She'll still have to pay, with interest.

Patrick Neary's lawyers are preparing to sue RTE as we speak!

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,766 ✭✭✭JM Skipton

Forget about an inquiry......It should be voted into law that anyone involved in the bank guarantee should have all pension entitlements revoked and let them take the country to court if they are not happy with it
