Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You took a risk and lost caller.

Was this guy resurrected ? He was in court after his death ?

This is like listening to a gaggle of taxi drivers.

Joe, listen to the caller would you before you shout him down.

Maybe she's right. I remember reading somewhere once that the TV Licence remains outstanding.

    Could be wrong though.

Still, one free lunch and a day trip to Dublin isn't worth haveing that conviction on her record in the long run.

If you don't pay your TV Licence, you're effectively putting your hand into Joe's wallet and taking €160 from €380,000.

Joe is forgetting one important point, this was the first time in the country's history that anybody was tried under this particular piece of company law so you cannot compare it to what is being talked about today

Those Anglo Irish fcukers knew full well that what they were doing was illegal, and so did the Financial Regulator, that leech Neary.
It's basic Company Law, and it's taught to Business and Commerce undergraduates as a matter of course.

The irony of the leniency on the white collars is that it is pi$$ing off the likes of all the do-gooders who had no problem with the judges when they were giving suspended sentences to scumbags guilty of violent attacks and rape.

It must also irritate Gay Byrne LOL!

Her sentence probably read "fine of €700 or in default of non payment of fine, 4 days in jail" - its usually one or the other

Fair play to him, hes right to highlight the regulators accountability or lack of it, Neary should be ashamed of himself!!!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,351 ✭✭✭✭Harry Angstrom

So, if I steal food from a supermarket, not through avarice or greed, but just to keep myself alive, I'm assuming Mr. Judge will let me go free?

    That'll be grand.
Likewise, if I choose to hammer down the bypass at 190kph and tell the traffic cop that I was told it would be ok by some fella over there, that'll be fine, too.

Neary should be put on trial. He should be made to pay back the 600k retirement lump sum, and he should be relieved of his 100k pension. This country is a cesspit of greed and corruption. The boys at the top look after each other. Neary is living proof of this.
