Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

He would not have an old age pension and a widowers pension together afaik..

Some of public service pensions can be very small as well depending on the final salary..

He said he's on €20,000 a year- which is more than I earn annually (part-time) and I have a house to run and a child to feed, clothe and educate.

I stand by what I said, and what I heard recently, has some, wants more

Put a brick in the cistern.

"I'm retired Joe, but I'm still out and about"

    roughly translated as:

"I used to pay some tax Joe, but now I don't pay any"

Feel sorry for parents with teenagers.....with the amount of time teenagers spend in showers cost could be prohibitive ;)

Do these people not realise this is just an allowance, not they're full entitlement of water for the year?

Do they ring revenue and complain that their allowances don't actually match their salary so they end up having to pay tax ?

The amount of people joining their local gym/public swimming pool will rise - and they'll all be in there using the showers and flushing the toilets

How are water charges going to be applied for students who rent from Sept - May or people on Short Term rents?

Same as with any other bill- electricity, gas, phone- take a reading and transfer the bill back to the landlord or next tenant when you move out.

Calculate the amount of times you go to the toilet every day!

Reminds me of the Hippy family that movie, Meet the Fockers. If its yellow let it mellow. If its brown, flush it down.

The toilet will still flush everything away and you save the volume of water in the space the brick takes up. Not a huge amount per flush but it adds up over time.

Doesn't have to be a brick, but something non pourous.

Either that, or adjust the stopcock to lessen the amount of water going into the cistern.

Not meaning to be insensitive, but

If the McConville children want to move forward, go to the PSNI and tell them what they know and let justice take its course - don't go on Sky news saying we know who did it - go to the PSNI and tell them

Her point is that as long as Adams et al do not completely condemn the activities of the IRA in these murders, she will not trust them (along with many others).

    I completely agree with her.

I have greater respect for her for not forgiving those who murdered her sister.

I don't go in for all this forgive and love lark.

I've met Jo Berry and don't see how forgiving Patrick Magee has moved the peace precess forward one inch.

If it helps her cope, that's fair enough. But those who choose not to forgive should be given the same tolerance.
