Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A couple who are over 70 are automatically entitled to a medical card if their income is less than €1400 per week?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,023 ✭✭✭Meathlass

    From HSE website:

People aged 70 years or older with a gross income not exceeding €500.00 a week for a single person, or not exceeding €900.00 a week for a couple, are entitled to a Medical Card.

So they've over €900 a week gross coming into the house?

Maybe Joe could compile a list of diseases for us that people who have them automatically qualify for a medical card regardless of how much income they have. We can pass it onto HSE then.

The HSE have that list already http://www.hse.ie/eng/services/list/1/schemes/lti/Your_Guide_to_the_Long-Term_Illness_Scheme.html

Could Joe not spend some time at home in front of the mirror (or his wife, or the cat, even) practicing how to cut people off with a small bit of manners?

Whether a bad line, or something he doesn't want to hear, or running out of time, he just mumbles incoherently over whatever they're saying, and cuts them off. It can't be rocket science ffs!

I was expecting Eleanor to toss the shower water out the window and give the neighbours a free bath. How eco-friendly is that?

Listening to the recording, I hear that Joe eventually got his Shatter spot. It was obvious that's what he wanted to cover, trying to stir up controversy (or as much as he dares) but the good citizens didn't give a flying ferk about Shatter, preferring to moan about water and medical cards, as is their right.
Joe's researchers must have been dialling like fury trying to find some aggrieved ex-Gards, etc.

    It's a disgrace Joe.

Not listening, just half-following the thread. If Joe hands back the 2mins pay he owes RTE for starting late today their deficit could turn into a surplus.

It seems to me that he's putting forward the same "lack of resources" excuse that he blames for the Gary Douche killing himself.
