Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Problem is that if a landlord accepts someone on rent allowance, the rent they can charge is capped at much lower than the market rate.

I was just going to say what the guy has said Joe, there's probably plenty of people on rent allowance on that area, so they want to spread it out around the city so they don't have socio-economical black spots Joe, simples.

Isn't that just the same as putting an apartment block of working professionals in Smithfield, etc?

Joe trying to turn this into a Thatcherite agenda.

Shocking how this government has done absolutely nothing to reform the rent supplement system. It wasn't fit for purpose at the start of their term and it's constantly being talked about in the media yet they seem oblivious.

If you went to the Guards and they couldn't be bothered, then ring their Inspector or the Ombudsman? Why settle for a shrug of the shoulders. Cracked

To be fair, she doesn't know that the garda wouldn't have turned up because she never went ahead with the sting.

    What does she want?
