    Skill Magill,

many thanks for the post - in essence you can use any speakers however in an ideal world you would at least use a specialist AV centre and an active subwoofer - they are more specialist speakers than the general surrounds and you will really reap the benefits of getting a dedicated centre and Subwoofer.

Lots of our Customers build a surround system slowly, we really recommend this route rather than buying everything in one go, you are far better off using what you have and as budget allows upgrade with decent components, rather than stretching the budget in the first instance and compromising your system forever..

If you have some reasonable speakers, use them as the fronts to start with and you will have a decent stereo system as the 626 is a great amp anyway - personally next I'd add an active sub - as this will enhance your stereo listening and add huge presence for all your TV & movie watching - after that you can add the rears and centre - all in stages.

If you want to drop us a post or a PM with an idea of what you listen to & budget, we can give you an upgrade path and get you on the road to Surround Happiness!

Thanks again for the post and give us a shout if we can ever assist,

    ATVB,

Thanks for the reply, my primary aim is connectivity, I have several pcs which should be able to connect through wifi and android phones that can connect through bluetooth. I have 4 x 100 w speakers that i can use for surround sound, is the onkyo 626 perfect for this type of arrangementor might there be something more suitable?
I may be heading up to Belfast tomorrow or on Saturday and might call in to the shop to talk?

    Hi Magill.

The Onkyo 626 would be a cracking purchase and great value for money. Its ticks all the boxes you require.
There are not very many the will do Bluetooth which makes the selection easier.

However in saying that there are products available to connect to your amp that makes it blue tooth but it helps drive the price up also.

For Example, you could look at the Sony STRDN1040 priced at £349.95

Add the Harmon Kardon BTA10 for £49.95 and you have a very good system indeed.

We have all of the above items in stock.
If you do come to Belfast today call by and we can make you a coffee and have a chat.

I popped up earlier and got the ONKYO  626,(dealing with Daniel) giving it a bit of a go at the mo, (took the wrong motorway back hence the late hour). 1st impression : awesome sound streaming through bluetooth. Still trying to work out how to stream over wifi though, perhaps I'll leave that till the morning.I feel there is a lot more to this system as I am only playing over 2x100w speakers, I loved the way it automatically configured itself with the supplied microphone.I'm thinking a couple of floor standers and an active sub woofer might realise its full potential.
