Poor Lawn Drainage

My back garden is extremely wet and muddy especially on one side. Can anyone suggest how I would go about getting this corrected? I don't know what's causing it except I've noticed the soil is very sticky, like clay.

I had the same problem and put in a land drain and divert the water down a hill into a manhole in the back garden. This video will give you a rough idea what to do: http://youtu.be/wMbO5RIji_Y
