That song is a gem, can't deny it a place if it was voted in.

I've never once heard it played on the station....(not saying that only songs played on TX could be in the top 100, but I didn't think it would be a top choice of listeners to this station)

Just saw Kendrick Lamar in the top 10, now that's a surprise. Hopefully it'll lead to more of him on the station.

I noted it and a fair few other tracks on the top 100 that I've never heard get an airing on TXFM prime time slots last year.
Hopefully the station owners/tastemakers etc will take note of the listeners top 100, as quite the interesting list it was

Whether you like Paul's taste in music or not (and I do), you have to hand it to him when it comes to keeping that place going while everyone else is out....he's doing Revolver now after doing his own show this morning - and it appears to be live, because he's just read out a tweet that was just sent in. None of the other part-timers seem to have the same flexibility he does, which is obviously fair enough when they probably have other jobs. He has covered every regular shift in that station on several occasions. They'd be lost without him in there.
On another note, there was a woman presenting around 10 on Xmas morning and I have no idea who she was....and it was too busy here to listen consistently! Anyone know who that was? And there was a dude on before her, but I think that might have been the Aidan that pops up every now and again....

Serious overplaying of Wyvern Lingo, Pleasure Beach, Otherkin, Villagers, and that Anderson song where he covers 'Get Back' at the beginning, at the moment.

And as I type this, they're playing The 1975 - 'Love Me'. They've a new single out for weeks which has yet to receive airplay.

TXFM should be promoting new artists at this time of year, similar to BBC Radio 1, but yet they'd rather play the same few songs over again. Even Kelly-Anne's show last night during the final hour became a playlist fest, as per all the daytime shows.

Phantom were far better at refreshing the playlist, even with Caddell having ads featuring a week's new additions to the playlist. Instead we have to endure constant ads by Donegan promoting that awful 'live guide', or his own Saturday show. The cheek.

Someone text in to Joe's show saying that TXFM should play more Kendrick Lamar, as he had three songs in the listeners top 100 poll. So he's playing King Kunta now. Hopefully a sign of things to come.

The 1975 - 'Love Me' is exactly what I DON'T want to hear on this station. I've noticed the Otherkin song is in serious overdrive as well and it's been bugging me too.
I can't understand why they don't play more Girl Band. They had two songs in the top 100, one of which was rarely or never played on the station as far as I remember (or while I was listening anyway, which is quite a bit - I stand open to correction if anyone has heard it played a lot - Pears for Lunch). Cathal did play them quite a bit in the Listening Post, but it was Lawman or Paul mostly. They are exactly what I would be expecting this station to play.

Cause they won't go in and do an interview with them, judging by how much they're playing Anderson.

He got a handful of plays a week before that TXFM interview.

Now he gets a handful of plays a day.

I've heard Skee-Lo "I Wish" more this week than Girl band.

    Shocking stuff.

never heard an Anderson song as I don't bother listening during the day anymore, but I wish they'd STFU about him on Facebook and Twitter.

STOP TRYING TO MAKE ANDERSON HAPPEN, IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!

That 'Charlemagne' song could be a Eurovision entry and that 1975 song sounds weirdly like 'Sledgehammer' by Peter Gabriel.

Kelly Anne just played Pears for Lunch because of Girl Band's Choice nomination today. I hope it becomes more of a regular thing with them all, even if it shouldn't take an award nomination to play them.

All Twins(or Tvvins if you like) have been getting the Anderson treatment for nearly a year now too. They started playing one of their songs around the start of feb last year and played it every other hour for about 6 months. Then they changed song and have been doing the same. I'm sure they think they are supporting up-and-coming acts this way but playing the same song over and over for months is just bull and very irritating to listen too.

Its the same theory that Nova have....play it till theyre sick of it...its counterproductive imo..

Listened to Orlagh Donnelly, Dee Reddy, Donegan, and a bit of Parklife today. I don't mean to Donegan-bash, but his standard of presenting is subpar compared to these presenters, and the general TXFM stable.

He's back to the 'this is the first/fourth single taken from (act's) debut/twentieth album released in (year)'. There is just no personality at all on his shows. Paul would be better hosting a specialist show where he can discuss songs/albums/artists in detail.

And Donnelly was playing some serious tunes this morning, and the Irish element is something TXFM should encourage more of.

I stumbled upon this last night....you guys might have seen it at the time, but it bypassed me totally in the various pre-Xmas activities going on - "Simon Maher fronted group expresses interest in TXFM contract"

The Radiohead Bond song is terrible.

    Thanks you!

Yeah I don't care for it much either. Has all the bond song themes and stuff, just, no.

They've managed to make a more annoying sounding song than one sung by Sam Smyth. The fawning over it earlier was typical txfm, akin to the time they'd spend most of the show lauding Johnny Marr and his easy money.

That Wolf Alice song is superb. Freazy. Such a great sound.

I think Radiohead's Bond theme it's the best composed and most atmospheric song of 2015/16!

I'd much rather hear that twice a day than The Academic's "Different"

My favourite song currently on the playlist. Check out the video too, it's very good.

Awful bloody song. Starts off alright, and then.... Kinda middle of the road twaddle

If you're referring to 'Genghis Khan', I wholeheartedly agree.

It's a bit 'Spin' but it's a catchy tune all the same. Bit like that Santa Gold track. Can't help but like it even though I really shouldn't.

The Song They Play Every Night by Little Green Cars is a magnificent piece of work. Cathals played it every day this week. If i had my way it would be played on the hour every hour until their second album is released on March 11th ;)

Is this what passes for "indie" nowadays...

I think that's an awful song. Good grief glad I don't listen anymore

It's more electro I think. It's a catchy tune, which is more than can be said for a lot of indie music. I'd take it over anything by the Black Keys and a lot more on the current playlist.
