Especially the sports article about Andy Murray and his (former?) coach, Amélie Mauresmo the other day! :D
Poor girl, she kept it straight, but would have been fun had she and Cathal just started laughing in fairness!

    That was priceless.

Just the laugh needed at that time of the morning.

She called County Laois - Laoisiss the other morning.
    That was a hoot!

Some of the presenters, predominantly Cathal, have been playing more adventurous music since the station's future was announced.

Yet, it seems the playlist from around that time is still rigidly adhered to today.

I liked that Lucius song for a bit, but they've ruined it on me now.

How often do we have to hear Bouts, Beach Baby, Pleasure Beach etc..?? They seem to have given up with regards to newly-playlisted music, not that they ever really tried anyway.

Every radio station is repetitive, possibly with the exception of 4fm. Thankfully what they're repeating is for the most part decent.

The afternoon and early evening tends to be the worst in fairness.

Feels like 40% stuck playlist and 60% decent tunes. He's good for throwing in random songs, just cause he wants to

All this constant whinging. I guess some people just revel in it.

Driving home listening to Air followed by Polyphonic Spree. Awesome.

    Jaysus I'll miss TXFM.

Absolutely, I have no idea what I will do when it goes.

I'm actually dreading it. I like listening to the radio, and Irish radio at that. Nova is the only real alternative but the presenters melt my brain.

Get the new Cathal Funge and Joe over and I am sold.

They are the only two shows I get to listen to.

I switched from Nova to TX because the Nova DJs were so inane. I won't be going back - Spotify+Bluetooth in the car.

Love spotify myself but sometimes you just like to listen to the radio.

The only Nova show I've caught is Pat Courtenay on the drive home.
His accent is hilarious -Atlantic 252 crossed with Smashy & Nicey crossed again with Ross O Carroll Kelly!
Dont mind the Dad rock stuff he plays some of the time, but the white van man/ Dustin the Turkey soundalikes he encourages to call in with traffic reports really grate on the ear drums.

Oh god, really hope nova don't grab tx djs.

They might be a type of alternative station, but they have a completely different agenda. They don't seem to play anything past 1987 (I exaggerate but not far off) repeat songs far more than tx, their djs are ****ing idiots with the usual desperate idiotic presenting styles.

At least tx djs have a genuine love for music and strive to get new Irish music on air.

Of all people, Joe deserves to move upwards rather than sideways

Surely then it would be a good thing if TXFM djs were to move to Nova?

NO...they would have the life and any knowledge sucked out of them and be given a play list and a uniform.......:pac:

Nope! They would just be dragged through the same radio ****e and puppeted into presenting in the same terrible way the rest of them do

Is it Noeleen? I admire her enthusiasm - but she has the unfortunate habit of using her wildly enthusiastic tone regardless of the content, so all deaths are treated in the same way that good sports news is! She's toned it down a bit now, but when she first started she was announcing deaths in the same tone that Paul uses for the Live Guide ads!

Oh God, I'd hate to see the presenters moving over to Nova. Wouldn't blame them one bit if they did - everyone has to make a living and a job's a job - but I just can't see how it'd work. Maybe it's just because I'd feel a bit cheated if Cathal and Joe suddenly started playing Bon Jovi's Bed of decking Roses. I can see Claire on Spin, but Kelly Anne is too eclectic for Nova. And I can't see how they'd be given free reign to play stuff outside of the station's usual stuff.
That being said, I reiterate that it's understandable if they do move over. Jobs in that industry are thin on the ground.

Kelly-Anne Byrne already presents "And The Beat Goes on" on Saturday nights on Today FM, so I could see her getting more time on Today FM.

Joe Donnelly might get a producer spot, with the odd fill-in presenter role, on Today FM. I heard him one Saturday evening on Today FM and he used to be a producer on Newstalk.

As for Cathal Funge, that could be more problematic particularly if he is precious about the music he plays. Maybe, he will end up as a specialist presenter on some local station outside Dublin.

I'd like to see Cathal get an alternative show on Nova, evening maybe..like PJ...Joe could easily replace Courtenay IMO....;)
