Unsurprising choice for the last track; sure the song ticker on their website had it up for the almost the last hour :)

Excellent choice for what it's worth.

That outro will still be playing when I get into the car tomorrow :)

    that's the........end of the road!

    It's been emotional

What have they done with the stream? I assume they're playing the frequency via stream and now you can hear the static and other station?

Is this a subtle "This is what you're left with now." statement one wonders...

Sad to see any station go. Wasn't a listener as don't live in Dublin, but it's never a good thing to have less choice.

    EDIT: Stream is now dead.

transmitter off. and then white noise with katy perry breaking through the crackling. ironic.

    Story of my life.
Transmitter went off very quickly after the song ended. I can envisage an engineer up on 3rock cursing TXFM for playing such a long outro while he's waiting to switch the transmitter off ;)

    So....

Anyone heard any good tunes lately?

Oddly enough, the deaths of famous musicians didn't really affect me as much as this has!

Anyone fancy a bit of piracy?

    :pac:

We should keep this thread alive with links to good new music as a mark of respect.

How long will it take for some tin box pirate playing cicin dance chuunz 2dpossee to hop on 105.2?:pac:

A pirate should have been ready to jump on the frequency as soon a Txfm closed down.

That's what I was thinking. I thought that it was a smart joke by the guys, but then I realised it wasn't that way at all. They must link the stream directly from the transmitter or something? But, that doesn't make sense.

  • Registered Users Posts: 305 ✭✭Twizzler

That was very, very emotional. Great way to go out - kudos to the guys if anyone ever reads this bar ourselves. Perfect song to finish up with.

feeding the stream from the transmitter was a possibility but they could also have fed it from a tuner. good idea either way as you get a chance to hear the fm audio.
