I'm in the car here driving through Mullingar and the signal just dropped on the western ring road outside the town. Crystal clear before that. Got it as far south as Portloaise the other week. Based on that I reckon it's available to most places on FM within 40 miles of Dublin, give or take

I should be well covered so as never beyond 30 miles...I did do a rescan in the car yesterday morning but only picked up the usual sh*te. I'll try again on way home this evening...here's hoping!!

Great list and only a few songs in and pining like a dog for a lost loved one! :o

Few additions for ya - I might be showing a particular leaning here but there's no Underworld or Daft Punk! :p Also, Joe was particularly fond of good 90s hip hop (not my area) so maybe a bit of that?

Is there a podcast/listen back available of the last show?

Wasn't a TX listener, but I'd like to have a listen.

If an open collaborative playlist is created we could all add to the playlist songs that we've heard as a result of listening to TXFM.

Never was your username so apt!

As we know already, Claire Beck and Kelly-Anne Byrne already got shows with Today FM, although I'm not sure how permanent Claire's is if she is going away for a while. Kelly-Anne already had been given her Saturday night show on Today FM around the time of the launch of TXFM. In the big shake-up of schedules this summer both in TX and Today FM, Kelly-Anne got her extra Sunday show on Today FM and Claire was given a new show on Today FM. At the same time, Nadine O'Regan was moved from TXFM to Today FM with her Songs in the Key of Life. Gavin Glass left TXFM for Radio Nova earlier this year.

But what about the others still there at the end of of TXFM. What will happen to Cathal Funge, Joe Donnelly and John Caddell? I suspect Joe could end up as a producer and sometime presenter either on Today FM or Newstalk - he was previously in that role on Newstalk before Phantom. The best I can think of for Cathal and John are presenting late night specialist music shows somewhere. Then there is Kate Hogan who looked after their social media - only heard of her for the first time last night! She was there with them last night in the background.

I wonder too about the part-timers like Dee Reddy, Paul Donegan, Paul Lynskey, Johnny Cullen and Shelly Grey. Esther Moore O'Donoghe is already an AA Roadwatch announcer on Today FM so should be okay. And of course, there are others who got the chop last summer: Tara Harrison, Derek Byrne (2XM would be perfect for him), Brian Keaveney, Orlagh Donnelly and Nialler9.

By the way what ever happened to Claire O'Dowd, who left a year or so after TXFM started?
Claire's is finished completely. AFAIK she's gone travelling with no return date planned. her show will go to someone else for the foreseeable future.

Joe was presenting on Newstalk over the summer, I believe (although might be wrong) that he does some producing too, where or on what I don't know...
Katie Hogan does marketing at TodayFM, and i'm pretty sure a few of the part-timers are producers at the other stations in the building (eg. Charlotte).
for others it was in addition to a day job so hopefully they'll be ok.

here's a list of everyone who was there until the end, possibly missing a few who filled in on a temporary basis though

Not sure how to do a quote, Mrs Shuttleworth said "UK Rajars just out, BBC Radio 6 is up again, record audience of 2.34 million.

Evans (oldies MOR music) and Grimshaw (current chart) both down, again."

Ben Cooper, controller of Radio 1, said the figures "should be seen alongside the increase to 1.5 million views a day on our YouTube channel and our 8.5 million users on social media".

Oh thats alright then! People are watching our youtube! Ben You Tube is TV not radio.
Grimshaw down to 5.25 million listeners. Thats a 2 million drop since Moyles. They seem to be proud of these figures! He would have got the sack years ago on anything other than the BBC!

People have alot of beef with two door cinema club. Ok, I can see the issue with their popular song being overplayed - but their first album is a really tight piece of work. Worth a listen.

On another note, for all you car commuters, got a Parrot mki9200 bluetooth system installed in my car last week. Can stream spotify and online stations. Really worth the money and the tx bereavement

Spooky....Marty Miller said exactly the same thing almost word for word......are you in fact MM......:P

If KB IS thinking of setting up an alt station, maybe Joe and Cathal SHOULD get a job ...heres hoping....oh no i've said it now ,KB doesnt like being told what to do...;);)

The BBC has active diversity quotas, 8% of staff at all levels of presentation and production and Grimshaw is from the minority side of the fence (or so he purports) which probably acts as a cushion in the short term. No real successor at R1 to the slot either so he's probably safe as long as he wants it.

I wonder how Moyles is faring on XFM - you don't hear much these days.

Re Two Door Cinema Club - I really like their Bee Gees pastiche. It's as if they've thrown the towel in on pretending to be cool. For the first time I listen to them. I find that indie-caribbean rock sound awful and fair fvcks to them for moving away from it.

Heard Tom Ravenscroft on 6 this morning, thought he was frightful. I probably should go to confession for saying that.

I'm not much of a radio guy but if I turned it on I would listen to TXFM. I enjoyed Joe Donnelly in the afternoon time, and the cheer or sneer feature, as well as his own playlist, introduced me to some new songs.

I'm sad to hear the station is no more. I will give Rainy Day Record by Mercury Rev a spin in its honour since that was one of the songs I liked to listen out for.
