Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Nah, disagree, the underdog is putting up a fight. But they are not rattled. Bayern are keeping possession well and they look good down their right side. Buttner needs help.
Good start from utd, but dont think Pep is p!ssing himself yet

what the fúck game are you people watching?

well I'm not the one looking at a game with hugely tinted glasses on. and by the way, YOU explained nothing either, just some crap about Bayern being rattled.

Explain "rattled", because it was not happening. Or wait, tell me to stop arguing with a mod.

Bayern get the ball; calm, control, retain possession.

United gt the ball...HOOF IT FORWARD!

Rattle, that thing your Mom gives you when she wants you to shut the f**k up. :)

It's coming. Have United got out of their own half in the last 10 minutes?

I wouldn't be an expert by any means. But this is pretty much the definition of hyperbole

Man Utd getting 9 players behind the ball and hoping to get something from a long punt from the back.

It's all gone very Bayern, now.

20mins of tip-tapping and not one clear-cut chance created.

    A lesson in football alright

I said up to that point in the following post.

We had players pressing Bayern up very high and they weren't finding their way out. We were getting the ball down the right quite well too. They also weren't creating very much either.

Was my comment in bold? No it wasn't. You know it wasn't so cop yourself on.

Anyway, it's all one way traffic in favour of Bayern now.

I know that the only stat that matters are goals but it'll be interesting to see possession, passes, etc

This is really brutal stuff. Barely getting about three passes strung together before it gets hoofed away.

    yeah cool.

Fellaini has absolutely no business playing CM in a CLQF - constantly conceding posession.

Utd determined to lose possession at first opportunity.

Its tough for utd, trying to win the ball back off a better team, that keep the ball like Bayern do is so hard.
So when you get the ball, I say you'd be so tired, you just wanna get rid of it. And also, when you do get the ball against these, youre usually in your own half, and cant risk trying to play ball with the pace of their attackers and midfielders all over you.

    Bayern's tackling is excellent.

Don't know what you were expecting but this is as much as we could have hoped for so far, given the circumstances.

This is like an FA cup match between a poor league 1 side and the leaders of the prem and the league one side are happy to have not conceded yet.

Thats how the game is supposed to be played, trying to open up defences with "tip-Tapping" as you call it..or do you prefer hoof it up the centre all the time.
"Tip-Tapping" eventually wears down the opposition, it encourages good football at least.

If this is how the majority of the game will be played it'll be just a matter of time before Bayern scores.

a Bayern goal is only inevitable, we haven't been able to keep a team out doing this this season so it's not going to work now

Has there been one, decent effort from either side that actually looked like testing either 'keeper?

Ribery and Robben looking dangerous any time they get on the ball, which united are allowing to happen frequently.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Same approach Fergie had in 08 against Pep. Not sure it'll quite work out this time though.

    25 - 75 possession so far.

I was expecting very little tbh but United are failing to meet even those expectations. A teeny tiny bit of composure wouldn't go astray

Bayern have even got to the byline far more often. Moyes must be disgusted!

Surpassed my expectations so far anyway. Look solid at the back at least.

"Tip-Tapping" eventually wears down the opposition, it encourages good football at least.

But you said we're being given a lesson in football.

They've done nothing with it. Possession means nothing unless they're at least testing our defence which they're not. Absolutely no penetration from them so far.

Not denying United will be shown a lesson, having said that, but at the moment all it takes is one chance and United could go ahead.

Of course I hate hoofball, but Bayern's aren't doing anything at the moment

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

Bayern coming up to 300 passes United just under 70.

But Bayern have 92% completion and United have well... 68%

Munich's interplay in the final third is brilliant to watch. They are like the liverpool of the German league.
