Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Treviso will be missing 11 players who are on international duty. We should be looking for nothing less than 5 points

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,037 ✭✭✭Cosmo Kramer

Brendan Macken has gone on loan to Gloucester on loan - he might have been a player we could have used over the next few weeks with our current issues in the centre.

What's the weather like in Galway lads? Nice sprinkling of snow here in South Mayo.

No risk of game being called off or anything?

Not a fear, blue skies here in the city and the snow has melted....provided it doesn't rain, conditions could actually be excellent by 5.

Good looking result for Connacht at the minute in the Arms Park. Cardiff beating Edinburgh 14-0 at halftime

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,037 ✭✭✭Cosmo Kramer

It is going slightly less well now, 14-10 after an hour.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,037 ✭✭✭Cosmo Kramer

Cardiff hold on to win 21-15. Just the lbp for Edinburgh.

White pulled out again late. Big Rod to start.

What sort of an attempt at kicking a penalty to touch was that from Ronaldson?
    Jaysis

Great running by Healy And a great finish by TOH

TOH is looking very lively today and took that try well.

Another awful effort of a kick to touch

I wonder if it's anything to do with his previous quad injury? Impressive start so far, we're going about this entirely the right way.

It's possible, but let someone else kick them after this.

Brett Wilkinson is delighted with the scrum on GBFM.

Would like another try before half time, or at least another penalty so we can spend the second half focusing on getting the bonus. Treviso are there for the taking

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

    Fair wind for Treviso.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

13-5 let off for Connacht just there Treviso back in it there but Connacht should be helped by the wind in the second half.

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 10,572 Mod ✭✭✭✭Robbo

We should be putting everything into the Clan/College Road corner in the second half. We're doing all the basics right and this match will come to us.

Niyi looked injured there and Conor Finn was warming up. I think it might be a case of Finn to 13 and Poolman onto the wing.

A win today will be a record amount of wins for Connacht in the Celtic League/Pro12.

Previously 8 was the most amount of wins in a season, Conn are currently on 8 wins.

Anyone see how bad Roux was when he went off?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,818 ✭✭✭Inspector Coptoor

    Nice try.

    Now bring on the BP

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,047 ✭✭✭Bazzo

Whatever about his kicks to touch, which TOH has taken over now anyway, Ronaldson's kicks from the tee have been spot on today.

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 10,572 Mod ✭✭✭✭Robbo

Muldowney is in great form recently.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

Connacht killing them in attack. Npw they have territory it looks easy. And another try.

    That's the tbp

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,113 ✭✭✭galwaylad14

Great stuff to have the 5 points secured so early. Only our 4th bonus point of the season and just our second try scoring one. We look very good in attack, great variety, 2 forwards tries and 2 backline tries.

We could give these guys a right beating, be nice to see us put 50 points on them. Score difference could be important yet, we're +2 at the moment and Scarlets are +30. We should be able to get ourselves up well past that today

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,000 ✭✭✭mjp

Job done. Bindis point got and now chance to rest some players ahead of 5 day turnaround with Cardiff on Friday night. Every game from now till end of season gonna be like a cup final

Looks like that'll be it with Poolman's try... Connacht 53 - 5 Treviso

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,818 ✭✭✭Inspector Coptoor

    7 tries
    5 points.
A masterclass in kicking from the tee from Ronaldson
Players taken off early and rested

    A great nights work

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,787 ✭✭✭d-gal

We should really have the attitude of chasing 4th and 5th. We are only 5points behind Ospreys now and 7points off 4th.
6 point cushion on Scarlets and 10 on Edinburgh

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 10,572 Mod ✭✭✭✭Robbo

We went about that in exactly the right way. Heenan's been getting sharper and sharper by the match and Muldowney is in immense form.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,300 ✭✭✭freyners

    Healy for lions.

    Ronaldson for ireland

    Lam for freedom of galway

8 points on Edinburgh I think.

The Lions is a long way away yet. Far too early to be calling for player's inclusion.

And I don't think Ronaldson has done enough to displace Sexton.

What's just struck me looking at the table is being only 11 points off top with 75% of the season gone.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,965 ✭✭✭connachta

Healy for Ireland, TOH for IrEland, and now Ronaldson for Ireland:D

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,113 ✭✭✭galwaylad14

I'd say Healy will be disappointed not to have had his hat trick tonight, he should have finished that one had his foot in touch for.

It was very pleasing though, we looked so good in attack, capable of scoring through the pack and through backline moves.

But the most pleasing of all was Ronaldson's kicking from the tee, immense stuff, 8 from 9 in tough conditions and all bar 1 or 2 were missable kicks.

It's by far the most important task on a rugby field and it would strengthen us so much if he could manage to keep up that sort of form with the boot. He's a fine player from open play too, well able to carry the ball and he just seems to have more ability and confidence to control the game than Carty
