I think we need player improvements as much as coaching. Johnson had a few good games on the front foot, but consistantly shows his flaws at the back. With Flanagan's balance of defence and attack, and Wisdom coming back, I think Glen could become surplus. We defo need a LB though.

Still very torn on CB. We have 5 with Ilori coming back, and 3 that could be considered 'first choice', but with Ilori showing good form in Spain, might we take a chance on starting him early in the season and trying to bring him on? Top class CBs show their class at an early stage, as was the case with Marquinhos, Varane, Papa and others. If he shows well in pre-season, I wonder if we might start some games with him and Sakho, a mix of power and precision. And really suits our high line to have such a pacy CB...

As much as people don't like him Mourinhio is a winner and he'll be in Liverpool to win the game.

If they do win they are right back in the title race.

Sami was a legend in his day, and a great leader....but I think he has went on the record more than once as saying he was kind of glad not to be living in Liverpool and England anymore, so can't see him back. Of course money talks etc so you never know.

Interesting to hear that Rodgers first coaching job was under Tommy Burns at Reading. Burns used to play some great football, interesting to hear Packie Bonnar, who was GK coach there at the time, talk about Tommy Burns influence on Rodgers style of play.

Burns style of football was glorious to watch, the three amigos at Celtic; Cadete, Van Hoijdonk & DiCanio probably wernt all that dissimilar to a front three of SUarez, Sturridge & Sterling

Everyone involved with this club, players and staff, with perhaps the exception of Gerrard, this is the biggest game they have ever played. Perhaps none more so than for Rodgers himself.

Mourinho won't step back from that.

I think Matic was one of the buys of the season, he looks a top class player.
Worth them swallowing their pride to re-sign him...
