Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You'd be mad to believe a word that Mourinho said. He'll turn up to win. This is just an attempt to throw people off their guard.

Rodgers is too savvy for this b*ll**** (as I would expect most managers are or should be).

We'll be ready for this on Sunday.

    Defensive coach?

Could certainly do with work on that.

I think we need player improvements as much as coaching. Johnson had a few good games on the front foot, but consistantly shows his flaws at the back. With Flanagan's balance of defence and attack, and Wisdom coming back, I think Glen could become surplus. We defo need a LB though.

Still very torn on CB. We have 5 with Ilori coming back, and 3 that could be considered 'first choice', but with Ilori showing good form in Spain, might we take a chance on starting him early in the season and trying to bring him on? Top class CBs show their class at an early stage, as was the case with Marquinhos, Varane, Papa and others. If he shows well in pre-season, I wonder if we might start some games with him and Sakho, a mix of power and precision. And really suits our high line to have such a pacy CB...

Everybody but the press is used to Jose by now. Maybe the latest nonsense is to draw attention away from that dirge of a display last night.

Of course he will show up to win....even solely for the fact that his ego couldn't handle his 'protégé' stealing his limelight.

Heard a couple of 'experts' on the radio this morning saying that Mourinho would rather play a weakened team against us and see Rodgers win the League rather than let Pellegrini win the title

Never heard such horsesh1t in all my life....the media give this guy waaaaaaaaaaay too much credit

Liverpool winning the league would be terrible for Mourinho since he's spent most the season talking down "little" Chelsea's chances against those massive financial behemoths of City and Arsenal (??)!!

As much as people don't like him Mourinhio is a winner and he'll be in Liverpool to win the game.

If they do win they are right back in the title race.

Would love to see Hyppia back in and around the club as a coach.

    http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/161657-sami-there-s-a-buzz-about-the-whole-city

Sami was a legend in his day, and a great leader....but I think he has went on the record more than once as saying he was kind of glad not to be living in Liverpool and England anymore, so can't see him back. Of course money talks etc so you never know.

Interesting to hear that Rodgers first coaching job was under Tommy Burns at Reading. Burns used to play some great football, interesting to hear Packie Bonnar, who was GK coach there at the time, talk about Tommy Burns influence on Rodgers style of play.

Burns style of football was glorious to watch, the three amigos at Celtic; Cadete, Van Hoijdonk & DiCanio probably wernt all that dissimilar to a front three of SUarez, Sturridge & Sterling

    His name is Jorg-e Cadete
He puts the ball in the net-e
    He's Portuguese
    He scores with ease........

And now he's broke! Did you see that story? Riches to rags story. Had to move back in with his parents, living off the dole.

Let's hope that one of them doesn't fake meningitis, and end up broke and living with his parents!

I remember the song - "When the ball hit the net, if it isn't Cadete, it's...Di Canio!" (to the tune of That's Amore)

60k sounds about right. I'd imagine there'll be a significant increase in the corporate capacity too, where the money is

    The Chelsea team will be

    Schwarzer
    Ivanovic Cahill Luiz Azpillicueta
    Matic Lampard
    Salah Oscar Schurrle
    Ba

Hardly a weakened side. Cech, Terry, Hazard injured though Hazard may be on the bench. Ramires likely to face a ban following his swinging arm at the weekend.

mikel in for lampard would be my guess (mikel is suspended for second leg of semi)

a decent side, no pushovers and they'll be doing their best to crash our party but I think there is a lack of leadership there and they could crumble if we go at them and play to our potential

Everyone involved with this club, players and staff, with perhaps the exception of Gerrard, this is the biggest game they have ever played. Perhaps none more so than for Rodgers himself.

Mourinho won't step back from that.

that's true - in that case I think he'll do his usual anti-football thing and try to kill the game with three holding midfielders of matic, mikel and lampard and one of salah/schurrle will drop out

I think Matic was one of the buys of the season, he looks a top class player.
Worth them swallowing their pride to re-sign him...

Which he may appeal and then be allowed to play at the weekend

If he does, the FA should hit him with a 10 game ban for launching such a frivilous appeal.

Just heard on the Anfield wrap, an Everton fan managed to get a grim reaper costume and scythe into the stadium the other day, and was standing behind Moyes during the game.

Was it definitely a PP stunt?
The one pic I saw with their logo on it looked photo shopped.

Pic is on the Humour thread:

    FIFA just suspended it.

So maybe the ban will be reinstated in Sept for 11 months, effectively only removing the Jan window, as a show of 'strength' by FIFA...

It wouldn't surprise me. He might even want to go, could hold his head up high if he left with a winners medal. Him and Pique, in that league, would be like Fred and Ginger.

Then we can sign Hummels. :D

I guess it means Barca can sign Reina if they are still interested.

Edit: Nevermind, looks like they are after ter Stegen

I imagine Ayer's job will be easier with negotiations, this summer. He'll have the Champions League music as his ringtone, getting Henry to call him while talking to a player, so he can say: "Oh it's the Champions League people again, just asking Champions Leaguey questions. Now where were we? Spurs were onto you aswell, yeah?"
