Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Has Scocco got any minutes? I was not sure whether he wa cut out for Prem football having watched him here.

Looks way, way, way off the pace due to his lack of gametime before joining us.

7 years and all Niall Quinn's hard work pissed away. Well done Sunderland, well done

Sunderland are deep in the sh!te now. Every time I watch Adam Johnson he impresses me. Excellent player.

Johnson is not as good as he thinks he is, seems to put more graft in when he has a point to prove and the defensive side of his game needs work.

Poyet starting with the 3 at the back and both Bridcutt and Cattermole coupled with the crablike football from the team was the downfall.

Hopefully he sticks with Wickham for the rest of the season, but being honest when your forwards make runs into space and your main playmaker keeps ignoring them, turning back on himself and looking for the full backs instead, goals are always going to be hard to come by.

Di Canio was even worse than Keane when it came to buying useless players for mad money.

Poyet has not got a lot to work with at Sunderland. They'll need to cut half that squad and start from scratch.

Many are out of contract, and Ki, Borini and Alonso are regular starters who are on loan.

If they go down it will be a start from scratch job anyways.

With that team selection at home tonight, Poyet's position has to be in question. Shocking.

No, it doesn't. He tried something different and it didn't work, fair enough, but persisting with other "tried and trusted" systems and teams hasn't worked either.

He's not perfect by any means but he's only of the only people associated with the club that can come out of this season with only sort of credit.

Constantly sacking managers has ultimately gotten us nowhere. No longer can it just be a coincidence. It's the players who are at fault. John O'Shea getting beaten for the 568th time this season at a set piece, Vergini making a **** up before Diame scored the second, etc etc etc.

Benching your best player and top goalscorer 2 games in a row is generally not a fast road to success

Did Di Canio buy any of those players? My understanding was the director of football brought in all the players and Di Canio was just the coach

Di Canio identified areas he wanted strengthened, Angelino identified players in that position, Di Canio always had power to say yes/no according to those close to the club and used it a number of times. Di Fanti dealt with getting the chosen players in within budget. Very much a team effort but Di Canio had the ultimate say.
