What is the best affordable capture device?

I used to have a Hauppauge PVR, but it fried and died. I only had it for a few weeks It was preowned though and I got it for a ridiculously cheap price off a friend.

Since I heard that the PS4 will be unlocking the ability to use a capture device, I was wondering where I can get a good, affordable capture device and what brand is the best?

I've seen so many and cannot make my mind up.

My budget would be between 70 and 150. I wouldn't pay too much for one

Very tasty if I do say so myself. Does it demand much to work on the PC? Or does it matter what specs are on it?

I don't know the exact specs but it's one of those PVRs where most of the work happens on the device itself, so you don't need a beast to use it.

I've been thinking about upgrading from the Game capture 1, to the Game capture 2.

Anyone here used this one yet ? "AVerMedia Game Capture HD II"

AVM HD 2 looks great. It's about time they released some kind of stand alone PVR.
With the internal sata hdd facility it's ideal for my purposes.

My Hauppauge HD PVR 2 is excellent, sure, but all the faffing about with the PC gets annoying at times.

I use an elgato game capture device. I have a hdmi splitter from my PC, and then use my laptop to stream, and basically takes the load completely off the PC. There is a bit of configuring required if you want mictalk + game audio, but it works once setup.

I read on either an amazon review or amazon product question about how the watermark can be turned off in the options menu, so i wouldn't worry about that.
