Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

After a decent result in a game nobody gave United a hope of getting anything from they should be in bouyant mood going to St.James park to face Newcastle.Manchester United have the best away record in the league but expect changes from the Bayern game.Newcastle won at Old Trafford so Moyes will want to avoid the ignomy of another team doing the double over him.

    3-1 MUnited.

  • Our away form has been decent, and Newcastle are on the back of a pretty bad result last week.
With Mata back & Rooney up front should be a win. Expecting an early exit if all goes to plan for Rooney with Hernadez getting 20 min run out.
Moyes needs to rest other players here (Resting Kagawa / Ferdinand / Valencia / Carrick for Munich???)

Newcastle seem to have checked out for the season. United to win.

    Very inciteful.

I also think that one of the Uniteds will win.

ManU will surely rest a few players, however thaty might even make them stronger as the team who play should at least be up for it.
I think ManU will edge it, 1-0 or 2-1
    Mata to score again.

Live on Setanta Sports 1 if anyone is wondering, so expect poor productions values, amateurish commentary mishaps and awful picture quality.

United are a great price at evens once they don't rest everybody.

    .
David Moyes: "[On trying to put the Bayern Munich match next week out of his players' minds] The only thing we are thinking about is the Newcastle game. The focus is all on Newcastle. We have to go up there, try to put on a good performance, pick three points up and keep trying to build up some momentum towards the end of the season. [On the draw with Bayern in the first leg earlier this week]
Alan Pardew: "We have got a real injury crisis at the moment. We lost Moussa (Sissoko) this week in the Southampton game, so of the team that started when we beat Manchester United, five won't play through injury. Moussa has a hamstring strain, and we think that's at least two to three weeks."

Newcastle are hopeless. Should be an easy Man Utd win.

    2-2 Draw.

    0-0
I expect Padrew would be very happy with the draw, the Bayern game away is much more important to Moyles - if Utd win that no-one will care about the Newcastle result.

Even Man U as poor as they've been this season won't have any issues beating us.

    We are ****ing hopeless.

    3-0 Man U

Two poor sides to play out a horrid 1-1 draw.

I think you're thinking of Tuesday when United drew 1-1 with the European Champions.

No Rooney. Dead rubber game though Utd really should win tbh

United have the best away record in the premiership ans Newcastle seem to be already finished for the season.3-1 Man United.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 346 ✭✭Francescoli

anyone see Moyes presser conference yesterday ?Did he mention anything about resting players etc ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

Doubt Moyes will make many changes to the team

I'd like to see Nani play, and Fellaini needs to play to get some confidence after his terrible showing during the week, Chico up front with Rooney out and Mata behind him

United to win by a few, Manchester that is

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

Lots of changes from Moyes didn't think he would

I like the look of that team

Man Utd XI v Newcastle: Lindegaard; Valencia, Jones, Smalling, Evra; Young, Mata, Fletcher, Fellaini, Kagawa; Chicharito

Subs bench; @ManUtd: #mufc subs: De Gea, Büttner, Vidic, Cleverley, Januzaj, Nani, Wilson

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,304 ✭✭✭madcabbage

I'm gonna go with 3-1 United. Newcastle to come out of the blocks and we strike back in typical Utd fashion. Chico to grab a brace.

Can't see anything but a United win here. Our season has been over since January.

Wilson on the bench for us today. Would love to see him get a few minutes at the end of the game. Youngster with huge potential

Man U to win by 3 to 4 goals

Couldn't imagine saying this but I'm glad buttner is fit enough to be on the bench. Rested today before Wednesday hopefully.

The usual vain hope that a 6/7 goal thrashing will lead to the "manager" getting jettisoned!

Had actually planned to go hiking today and give it a miss, ****ty weather put pay that, now i get to watch a ****ty team getting thrashed by another poor side and the joys of the laughable Dan Gosling for 90 mins too, I CANT FCUKING WAIT!!!

    *rant over

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

Considering the state that Man U are in, and that we beat them in OT, the odds quoted at the moment are damning of the club. Man U are 21/20 to win. This kind of regression is hard to tun around, next season will be a mess unless there are drastic changes

(I know, I know, the rant wasnt over)

We (Man Utd) have the best away record in the league.

We (Man Utd) have the best away record in the league.

Granted, but our current **** form trumps that as far as effecting the outcome/odds. NUFC have been utterly putrid for months.

EDIT: Lets not forget you are playing a reserve side too today, this is not the side that has gotten that record for ye! Even still home no hopers :(

A nice early goal for Fellaini, Followed by a Mata peach before half time. Newcastle to grab one back before Wilson scores a tap in late in the game!
3-1. With a Newcastle red card in there somewhere.

that looked like a tasty challenge from Evra! Lucky to get away with that

Not even 5 minutes gone and already Fletcher is having to roar at Evra to do his job & be a full back.

Pity nobody roared at him to do it for the last few years

Interesting stat for MUFC fans. NUFC have lost 13 of the 14 games they have conceded first, the other was a draw. First goal crucial
