Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Recently I attended a filming of Pointless. It's filmed in Borehamwood, about 20-25 minutes from Luton airport so it's very easy to get to. There are a few cheap and cheerful hotels within walking distance of the studio so it doesn't have to be too expensive. I'm sure if the flight times worked out you could do it all in the one day. It was really interesting to see how it's filmed. The majority of the audience sits really close to the set, and the rest are a bit further back. The whole thing is pretty much filmed in real time, and if Alexander or Richard fluff their lines they immediately repeat the line and move on. The only other breaks in filming come between rounds or when they have to check an answer or if it takes a bit longer to get the answer loaded onto the tower. The odd time filming is stopped to mop the brow of a contestant.
Oh and you watch 2 shows so they break in the middle so that the hosts and returning contestants can change clothes. We got to see a few rambling conversations between Richard and Alexander that won't make the edit, so that was pretty cool. We did a lot of oooohing and groaning and clapping and cheering and it was great fun. We didn't see any pointless answers, but we did see a few 1s and 2s.
Definitely worth the trip over if you're looking to do something a bit different. It's only 25 minutes from London on the train too so if you wanted to do it as part of a trip to London it would be easy. They're into the last couple of weeks of filming for this series now but once they start up again you can apply for tickets here. You can choose 3 dates and we got about 6 weeks notice, so we were able to book cheap flights and accommodation.
Just thought I'd let you all know what it's like.
Oh, and the Pointless trophy is tiny!0 -
