Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Kriega is prolly my favorite stuff you can get for a motorbike, Its expensive but the cost is far outwayed by the quality and longevity of the stuff they make.

Managed to pick up some Kriega gear last week, I already have the R30 backpack which is without doubt an amazing piece of kit so I did not hesitate to get more when I could.

I got the US-10 and the US-20 tail packs along with the Kriega Tank adaptor and cargo net. I already have the R3 waist pack.

In order of size the R30 backpack, US-20 tailpack, US-10 tailpack and the tank adaptor.

The Tailpacks can be used separately or click together, you would be very surprised how much stuff you get into them. And in the shot they are only half full and rolled down!

And the very handy R3 waist pack....being using this for about 2yrs now in all weathers and still looks like new.

I have the waist pack too, but tend to loop it over my shoulder because it tends to end up round my ankles when I'm walking.
    Do you find that wonda?

No not at all, I dont have it low down as it can hit the seat when moving around or sitting up. I tend to wear it a little higher so it sits at my lower back and its perfect. Its very adjustable too so have it a little tighter or wear it a tad higher. Around the shoulder would feel arkward for me TBH. You can get the double version too but you get plenty into the R3.

In fairness, it looks like good gear. I think you had a thread on it before, when I change from a bike with panniers, I'm definitely investing in an R30. Is that their only 100% waterproof bag or are there others?

Its better then good mate, it really is top notch. I dont mind paying for UBER quality stuff TBH. Only the R30 is waterproof the rest are not.....

All the tailpacks "DP" Dry Pack is waterproof, All the Kriega gear is water resistant but you need the white dry bag inside for it to be waterproof. Also only the main compartment is 100% waterproof on the Kriega items that are waterproof, the pockets and compartments are water resistant. I was caught in the heaviest rain for 3hrs coming back from the NW road races and the pockets were only damp not flooded. Its the comfort and the build quality that set this stuff apart, yes you can get cheaper but its not in the same league IMHO.

What I also love about the gear is most of it is interchangeable....it just clicks together. For instance you could buy the huge R35 and click a US-10 to the top of it etc. Also if you buy a back back they sell back protectors to slot in for armour aswell.

Been look at these for a while, but not bitten yet, where did you buy? Down in Galway and done see them in the shops, so will prob be an online purchase

I got mine in various different places. Megabikes in Dublin is where I got the R30 and the R3 they are open to a bit of haggling aswell....online might be your best bet TBH. Just make sure you look at the spec of each product. A few lads off here got the R25 and taught it was waterproof  so look at the description before hand.

Have to agree on PC on this one, if you're touring and have panniers it's no contest, no matter how good your soft luggage is.

I do have panniers they came with the bike, don't have a top box and I am not paying €500+ for one either. And the locks that come on the luggage you would break with a tooth pick so you could not leave them on the bike overnight so you end up carrying into hotel at the end of the day anyway. I would also prefer the hard luggage but the soft luggage has many advantages......more then likely it will be the side panniers and the 1 tail pack. Gotta travel light, otherwise you spend more time packing and un-packing then touring.

Ya never know, I might just shotgun it with my R35 and my Givi tank bag, the two of them would hold a small supermarket!

Interesting thread. I have been looking for tail packs for a while as my tank bag is falling apart (3 years of use) and I fancy a change.

Of these three tail packs, would US20 (the medium size one) fit a 14" laptop?

Just checked there and a 14" laptop would EASILY fit into the US-20, my 17" laptop fits in with about 3" width to spare at the neck width ways....Hope the pics help.

That's brilliant, these bags are way bigger than I thought. Good to have a laptop or something familiar in size in picture for scale. I suppose that laptop wouldn't fit in the US10 now, would it? :p I'll hit ebay/etc and will keep and eye for this. Thanks again!

Ill check later on but tbh you dont want it too snug that you cant fit anything at all in with it. A bit of foam padding would be ideal if you had it.
