Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

1 - 1 would be a fair reflection on that half.

Comical foul by Carroll. Great drama! Goalkeeper are usually way overprotected, and then that isn't given :pac:

At the same time, I still think Mignolet shouldn't drop that. Be stronger.

Seems like the linesman saw the foul but the ref overruled him. Linesmen should have stood his ground.

Bloody joke that goal was allowed. Gotta show we're Champions material in this 2nd half. Massive 45 coming up

Would like to see some people try hold onto the ball with a slap to the face like that.

Big half of ball to play. Need to refocus and put that awful decision behind us. Have not been playing well at all, need to step it up.

If such a disgraceful call costs lfc the title then that ref should be ashamed

How can you blame Mignolet, Carroll practically punched him and and grabbed his arm? Poor decision from the ref with a perfect view of it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

    Refs love us...

I know its just luck, or lack of it rather, but that said, the standard of refereeing all season has been fairly poor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,694 ✭✭✭✭machiavellianme

When two officials can't agree surely there's grounds for TV ref in that situation?

100% Carroll does catch him but he should be holding on.

Still though, its never a goal.

  • He's entitled to challenge the keeper, fair play ref 90% of the time keeper way too overprotected.

lol he shouldn't be getting a hand in his face either

clear and blatant foul - end of story

Mignolet stopped the ball because he was hit in the face. He would have punched it other wise. Brutally bad call by officials

Looks like we are witnessing the redefining of the rules of football. Atrocious decision by the ref. Why bother having assistant refs if all they are good for is waving flags for the crowd?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Its set up for a huge 2nd half, still think Liverpool will win by 2 but a draw at HT is a fair reflection on the game so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,163 ✭✭✭messinkiapina

Next goal wins it, lets hope it's not the result of another refereeing fcuk up

We all cry out for the linesmen to make a decision and he did in this case but was over ruled by the ref .
It really shows me why linesmen won't make a call .

He's maybe impeded, but that would be getting away with an error, it's not as if he's barged off the ball.

Obvious to everyone that the linesman has bottled it.

Why flag if he hasnt seen something, just another bit of gutless gutless officating

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,683 ✭✭✭LightningBlue

There's been an enormous amount of important blatantly wrong decisions by referees this year. Every team has been on the end of them.
Not many of the referee/linesmen teams seem to trust each other either - which makes the problem worse.
Referee doesn't want to be undermined if he makes a wrong decision and digs his heels in.

    Balances out a soft peno

Disgraceful refereeing simple as that. Clear arm in the face as the keeper tried to collect. Joke.

1 - 1 would be a fair reflection on that half.

Bar that ****up of a decision, I cant remember Mig having do anything.

Liverpool have created a few chances.

Sterling offside at city, Eto at the bridge the ox at the emirates, Now the mig at west ham how can the officials keep getting it wrong a huge huge call the ref got wrong.

Challenge yes pull his arm no. If you tackle any player by not going for a ball then its a free.

challenge is okay but a slap in the face? hardly the same thing now is it.

  • **** off Redknapp he did not knock it out of his hand, he tipped his face alright

    Biased

Caroll follows through and nudges migs arm so drops it, not his fault

Watch some Gaelic football, it happens all the time.

    Man up soccer goalkeepers!!

1 - 1 would be a fair reflection on that half.

How'd you figure that? One team hit the post and has tried to play football. The other hit the oppositions keeper and are playing the man first, then the ball. Not a great game but the team with most possession and most chances likely deserve to be in front.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,952 ✭✭✭Morzadec

Harsh to blame Migs he's jumping for a ball with a 6ft5 monster clawing all over him, he shouldn't be under the microscope here, it's a blatant foul

Shocking from the referee, especially when the linesman flags it

Anyone would struggle to hold on to that with a man the size of Andy Carroll barging into you and simultaneously slapping you on the head.

Under no circumstances should Mignolet take any blame for that goal.

Lets just go out and tw*t these c**ts in the second half.
