Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    JFC, Mata.

Inactive opponent goes further ahead. This is kind of funny.

I have Ward first sub but I reckon Hazard will at least get a cameo.

Question: were Utd good today, were Newcastle awful, or some combo of both? I haven't watched them play in quite a while so I'm curious if they're actually finally coming together as a team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,798 ✭✭✭Mr. Incognito

Who is this Mata and why have we never heard of him......

He has a blank next week but may bring him in for Gerrard then

Newcastle were awful, really really terrible.

Utd though, particularly Mata and Kagawa were impressive

Positive that Speroni kept the cs though and at least Puncheon should keep his place for the DGW. Having the 3 Palace players looks good atm

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,747 ✭✭✭Ziegler1988

28 points behind my rival this GW and my only differentials left are Baines and Lukaku (I'm an Arsenal supporter so that would be just as crappy if they explode)

They are playing way better since RVP got injured. Allows more players to play in their best positions.

39 points, no hits and 5 to play including the capt. 7 bonus points to add to that too.

Could be set for 2 good weeks in a row

United looks really good in midfield with mata in his proper position and having kagawa on the pitch seems to make united much better.

Lindegaard had 3 very good saves from cisse chances.

Newcastle were rubbish though, didnt seem to be trying at all. I would be very surprised if Pardew is managing them next season.

In GW37. Next week Mata has a blank as the Hull game is now in GW37 due to the FA cup

So who else's entire fielded team (so far) has been outscored by Mata this week? :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,553 ✭✭✭✭Dempsey

If my memory serves me right they played better without him the last time he was out as well. He might be the weak link in the team :pac:

19-12, an Ivan cleanie probably wouldn't even do it.....

Januzaj was pretty poor but scored,23 from 3 so far,I'll take that.

15 from 4, 7 to play inc my 3 Strikers and Captain. 2nd choice sub on 6 points who could still come on.

Not a bad start so far.

Although still expect red arrows tonight, as Hazard my only player this evening, and he does not start.

same boat, cant see hazard stayin benched unless theyre 2 or 3 up.

32 With Hazard,Lukaka,SAS,Terry and Coleman to play, bp's for Mata as well, hoping to rise a bit with that. Hazard on the bench so will nick a cameo from him but Chester waiting if he doesn't appear.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,268 ✭✭✭IsMiseMyself

12 from four. Took a -4 hit too, to bring in Demichelles and Mutch. Who got 3 points. Ha. Necessary substitutions though, so don't regret it.

I have Hazard and Azpi to play this evening. Hope Hazard doesn't come on at all. He needs a rest sure. Reasonably confident Azpi can keep a cleanie at Stamford Bridge. Six to play tomorrow then. Relying on a big game for Lukaku and Sturridge tomorrow to keep me comfortably ahead in my private league.

So far, another ****e week. Standard.

34 points with 5 BPs to come. Suarez (c), Sturridge, Lukaku, Coleman, Hazard/Jedinak & Mannone to play.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,818 ✭✭✭Inspector Coptoor

    16 points from Mata.
    Huddlestone didn't play.
Have Mariappa & Chamakh to come off the bench.

5 of my starting XI played - 13 points
3 of my bench played - 24 points (Puncheon, Chester, Ward)

A Terry goal (from Hazard assist) + clean sheet is all that could salvage today's games.

15 from 3. Against average in a h2h match that is quite important to me. Tiny bit nervous.

  • Registered Users Posts: 742 ✭✭✭ItsChecoTime

On the contrary to a lot here I got Mata in 2 weeks ago, pretty happy with his returns since!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,094 ✭✭✭SpaceCowb0y

Didnt get to see any of the football today but out of curiosity where did Mata play today considering Rooney and RVP were out? Surely he got a chance to play in a more central role then he has been playing up to now, hence the 2 goals and an assist i see he racked up!? Or did he score these playing off the wing? David Moyes take note and play one of the best creative midfielders in a position where he flourishes! This is from a Liverpool fan too!

I reckon if they're leading comforatbly he might hopefully keep him rested for the ever important psg game? Maybe? Hopefully? If they need a after 60 minutes he'll definitely come on.

Hazard better not come on for a cameo, have Ward to come in for 5. Need Chelsea to concede though so unlikely I'll get both.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,251 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

Fook Mata. James Chester got me a clean sheet :D

I fully expect Hazard to come on. Mourinho has previous. Even when resting a player, he generally brings them on for ten or twenty minutes.

He used to do it with Lampard.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,579 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Not only will Hazard come on, he will score at least 1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,251 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

20 points from 4 so far.

  • Registered Users Posts: 475 ✭✭Rosco79

Not many mangers rest their most prolific players at this stage of a season particularly with the title race so tight. Its always hard to tell with Mourinho whether its being done as a 'master stroke' or just as attention grabbing but it always feel a little like the latter....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,579 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Chelsea are all over Stoke. If they had a clinical finisher in the team, they'd be three up, easy.

Still hoping Hazard doesn't come on, even though I'm 100% sure he will.

Well if he does, he has to atleast score to make it worth while.
